Abigail's POV
We were standing in our two gauntlet lines, every one of us chuckling. There isn't anyone new and the guards aren't making an announcement. Someone else has to run the gauntlet.
Markoutski.
"What's going on Will?" Markoutski yelled. "No one is scheduled to run the gauntlet."
"Actually someone is." Blain smirked. We all tried to hold back our laughter.
"Who?" We couldn't hold in our laughs. "What's so funny? Is the little slut walking the gauntlet?" Everyone stopped laughing.
I stepped forward which lead to Markoutski laughing. "I wouldn't be laughing, Marian."
He stopped and the inmates started laughing again. "Shut your mouth Stewart! Unless you want another black eye!" He tried to act tough but I just laughed.
"That's what all of this is about Markoutski," began Blain.
"What? How Stewart is a disrespectful piece of...."
"Nope! You are." Blain interrupted Markoutski. Blain stepped behind him and handcuffed his hands together.
"What the.... What are you doing?" We laughed as he struggled. "What's going on!" He tried to fight but Blain was stronger.
Once he was at the beginning of the gauntlet, I stepped out on the other end. "You!" Markoutski screamed.
"Shut it!" I yelled back. "You should learn that in a prison you either make friends with the inmates or enemies. Sucks for you because you made enemies. What really sucks is your knew here." A smile came onto my lips as I started walking the gauntlet towards Markoutski.
"But..... How??" He asked with wide eyes as he watched how the inmates didn't touch me as I walked.
I chuckled as I stood right in front of him. "You messed with the wrong prisoner." I punched him in the stomach. He doubled over in pain. I turned around continuing to talk. "You see, if your going to mess with a prisoner make sure it's not the one prisoner that well..... Haha the one prisoner that is the top dog." I turned around. "You mess with the Chief, you get her Crew."
"Come one! Blain you aren't going to let them do this to me are you?" He started to panicked.
"Of coarse I am." We all laughed. "You deserve it."
"What?! I don't deserve to get killed by prisoners." He said the last word with disgust.
"Keep talking like that and you will be!" I shouted.
"You do deserve it! You abused a girl. And unless you want to be a prisoner here where I truly have no control over what happens with my back turned," he paused while the inmates laughed. "Then walk the gauntlet."
"I'd run if I were you!" Said AJ next to me. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"Calm down," I whispered. "He'll get what's coming to him." I felt AJ's shoulders relax under my bandaged hand.
"So!" I turned my attention back to Markoutski. "Didn't your mother ever teach you that saying? What goes around comes around." I smirked. I was currently standing at the other end of the gauntlet.
"You ready Stewart?" Blain asked from behind Markoutski. The inmates laughed and yelled in response. I just smirked. Markoutski was pushed forward. As he passed, each inmate either punched or kicked him.
Now you may be thinking; Abigail, how could you be so evil? Simple my delusional friend. I learned at a very young age that if you don't stand up for yourself, you'll just continue to be bullied.
Plus this is prison so it's expected.
I didn't watch Markoutski's reaction. I watched the inmates. They were laughing and smiling proudly. They were happy they were able to stick up for their Chief. That's why I agreed to this.
It wasn't for me. Or for justice. It was for my crew. The people who felt responsible for my safety. This was their way of making it up to me. Even when they had no debt to pay.
