Running From Home

Edward drove us as quickly as he could away from the field. Every time we spun round a corner I squeezed my eyes shut.

"Could you slow down, like just a tiny bit?" I asked, as we nearly crashed into a sign.

"No. We have to get you away from here," Edward replied seriously.

"Ok we're away from the field, can we please slow down now?" I asked a couple minutes later.

"Maddie..." He warned.

"Right, ok. My life is at risk here. Where are we going anyway?" I asked.

"Anywhere apart from here," Edward replied.

"Wait, I need to get my stuff. Take me home," I requested.

"We don't have time," Edward told me.

"Edward Anthony Masen Cullen, take me home right now. That is an order. You take me home right now, or I swear to God I will jump out the window," I warned him.

He looked over at me and sighed.

"We only have a few minutes, ok?" Edward said.

"That's all I need," I told him.

"How did you know what my middle name was?" Edward asked, holding back a smile.

"Middle names. There's two of them, that makes them a plural and take a guess," I teased.

"Emmett," He realised.

We pulled up outside my house and I ran straight in. I tried to be as quiet as possible, making sure not to alert Charlie or Bella, if she was home that is.

I snuck into my room and shut the door silently.

I began to pack a small bag, packing only the absolute essentials.

"Where you going?" A voice came from behind me, causing me to jump into the air. I flipped on the light and spun round.

"Bella? What the hell are you doing in my room?" I whisper-yelled.

"I asked you a question first," She snarled.

"And you don't get the right to demand anything out of me after what you did," I retorted.

"I'll tell Charlie that you're sneaking out," Bella replied.

"No you won't," A new voice said.

I smiled when I saw Edward leaning against my wall near the window.

"Edward, have you missed me?" Bella smirked. "I knew you couldn't stay away from me."

"I think it's time you were leaving," He said sternly, completely ignoring her flirtatious attempts.

"Oh, ok. I'll wait for you," Bella smiled, before leaving the room.

"You'll be waiting an eternity," He muttered.

I ignored the pair of them and turned back to my packing.

"Are you almost done?" Edward asked, wrapping a protective arm around my waist.

"Yup, just give me a sec," I replied, chucking in some random clothes.

I then did up the bag and threw it onto my back. I went to go out my door, but Edward put his hand on it.

"She's outside the door. We go out the window," Edward whispered.

"Are you being serious? The window? It's so high up," I whispered.

"Maddie, do you remember that I am a vampire? I can jump from high places and if I'm holding you, you are safe," He reminded me.

"I know, but you can't blame me for being nervous. I am only human," I smiled.

"There's no such thing as being only human. Not when it comes to you, there's so much more to you," Edward said, holding my hand.

"You know, if someone else heard that they would probably have a meltdown," I laughed, gesturing to the door.

"Well then, we'd better get out of here before she does," Edward smirked, holding out a hand.

I looked at it hesitantly then grabbed it. He lifted me onto his back effortlessly and opened the window. Elegantly, he leapt out of the window and ran us back to his car.

"Where are we going now?" I asked.

"Back to mine. We'll talk to Carlisle and see what the plan is," Edward replied.

"Does he have one?"

"I guess we'll find out soon."

Once we got back to the Cullens house, we walked in and saw Laurent walking towards us with Carlisle.

Automatically, Edward pulled me closer to him and away from Laurent.

"Don't worry, Edward. He's come to wanr us," Carlisle assured us.

"I've grown tired of James' games. In my many years on this earth I have never seen skills like he has. And the woman, Victoria, don't underestimate her," Laurent warned us.

Laurent then left without another word and Edward and I followed Carlisle down to the garage.

"So, how are we gonna kill this dude?"

Quick question, would you guys rather have shorter and more frequent updates or longer and less frequent updates???
