"Hey guys, what're you up to?"
"Hey Lixin, nothing much really, we're waiting for River. He had chemistry and Mr. Henderson loves taking extra time,as you probably know."
"Oof. Poor child. Anyways, its better he's not here. I heard he has a secret admirer."
"Yea it's some chick he's barely seen. She started giving him notes daily. Now they're texting and calling non stop. Its annoying."
"So did he stop?"
"Nah, so we bet on her."
"Bet?"
"Yea. We bet $150 that he'll make her fall for him, then they'll date for a month and he'll break up with her in front of her like Sabrina did."
[No matter how much she tried, Dove couldn't help the rising feelings of disappointment and disgust. Disappointment in herself for letting herself fall for him and his tricks. But she was mostly disgusted, by these boys and their thoughts.]
"But that girl is innocent, don't use her and her feelings to get back at someone."
[They laughed as a group, apparently messing with someone's emotions was amusing.]
"Lixin, this is what all boys do, don't be surprised."
"Right, and that's why all boys are trash."
[And with those last words Dove got up and rushed out of the class, brushing past another student who was entering the room. Unknown to her it was River, who didn't bother with it much and walked up to his friends and greeted them with a a simple 'Yo' and they did the same.]
"So what did y'all do while I was gone?"
"We were talking to Lixin about our bet."
"Why would you do that?"
"She knew about your secret admirer. That's why."
"Ugh. Speaking of, I'm calling the bet off."
"What? Why? Don't tell me you actually like her."
"No. Of course not. But she doesn't deserve this."
"Good. I feared you were falling for someone you haven't met. Who knows, what if she's ugly. Anyways, you're paying all three of $150."
"Yea, whatever."
[And as their conversation ended, their AP math teacher entered and begun doing his job.]

For clearance, Lixin is Dove's real name
