[Lixin laid down after her short call with River, a permanent smile now plastered to her face. Soon she fell into a deep slumber, only to be woken up an hour later by possibly the worst phone call of her life.]

[She picked the call, still in a sleepy state that soon disappeared after hearing her aunt's voice distraught from the other side. Her legal guardian wasn't just mumbling but audibly crying.]

"Aunty, calm down. Explain what happened."

"P-pack bags. Flight t-three hours. B-brian t-too." 

[Her mother's sister had evidently calmed down but she still wasn't making any sense.]

"Aunty what? Where are we going that too at this time?"

[The girl started to panic, hoping for everything to be ok. But her aunt's next words proved otherwise.]

"P-parents. Accid-dent. L-lost."

[Lixin was able to piece together the three words the lady on the other side was able to mutter before crying again.]

"Ok I-I'll get Brian."

[And with that she cut the call, running to her brother's room at the same time.]

[Lixin knocked on his door before entering. But in front of her eyes wasn't just her brother, it was also his girlfriend, who was sharing the bed with him. No matter how much she wanted to avoid Sabrina's presence she still had to inform Brian.]

"B-brian. Please wake up."

[She managed to whisper a few words before tears came rolling down her cheeks, which were not go unseen by Sabrina.]

"What happened? Did you finally realise River's too good for you?"

"Brian, get up. Please. I need my brother right now."

[Lixin disregarded the words from the girl across the room and continued calling out for her brother.]

"Lixin?"

[He finally woke up.]

"What do you want?"

"Pack your bags Brian. We have a flight to New Jersey in three hours."

"What why? Is everything ok?"

"I wish, we lost them Brian..."

[Lixin's tone died down at the mention of the news.]

"N-no no no. That's impossible. They promised to wait for us until you graduate."

"I'm sorry."

[And for the first in months that day, Lixin truly felt like she had a brother.]

"Come here, Dove."

[Brain had his arms wide open, welcoming his sister for a hug.]

"It'll be alright. I'm here now."

[All this time, Sabrina just watched not knowing how to react. But when she did, it wasn't of any good.]
