"Mom... Why is dad's room empty? Where is he anyway...?" Alexander asked as he tugged his mother's sleeve.
Rachel, his mom, just looked at him with tears in her eyes. She took his hand and softly replied "Your father is going away... It's what's best for us".
James Hamilton Jr., Alexander's brother, joined his mother and brother. He tapped his mother's shoulder "Mom... Dad told me that he's going to leave, is that true?" She just sighed and nodded.
Alexander looked out the window. He saw two men standing outside. It was his dad and a familiar figure. Alex waved through the window, hoping to get his father's attention. His father didn't notice him, but a young boy around his age did. He waved back, smiling. Alex was confused. Did this boy want to be his friend-? Alex just simply smiled back.
Sadly, his happy thoughts had to come to an end. The car his father owns started. He quickly looked at the direction of the car. Suddenly, it moved down the road. This was it. His father is gone now... What is going to happen without his father-? Who even is that young boy...?
One thing is for sure, Alexander's world turned upside down.
