The Wood Between Worlds

Chapter San

           I watched the girl from another world as she took in all that I had just told her as one of my advisers leaned down and whispered something to me,
         "do you think that was maybe too much for her to digest?" he said.
         "it'll be fine Warran. We just need to give her time,"
          "of course, your excellency."
          I looked back at the girl and saw that she was reaching for something in her pocket. Worried, I leapt towards her, grabbing her just as she touched the device. As soon as she touched it, it seemed like we were underwater. I held my breath and kicked up until i resurfaced, expecting to see a flooded cave. But i wasn't in  Tal Camme anymore...
         "What did you do!" I yelled, 'We needed you! And you just left us! how could you! Do you know what's at stake!!? Now they are all going to die, because of you! You have to go back!"
           She turned to me and the look on her face was pure terror. She kept looking from me to the object in her hand.
          "H-h-how are you here??" She asked.
          "I grabbed on to you before you left so that I could bring you back! Please! We need you!!"
          "I can't do it! What ever it is you want me to do, I can't- I won't do it!" She told me, "I came here looking for adventure! Not death!" She added under her breath.
         "then tomorrow, the blood of my people will be on your hands." I tell her, turning back to the pool we came out of.
           "you can't go back that way." She said.
            I look at her, "excuse me?!"
The only way you can go back is with me." She said, "And I'm not going back until you tell me what is going on. Why can't someone else save them? And what happens tomorrow?"
"I guess I didn't really explain, did I? We need you to find the world of legend. The land of mythical beasts and magical objects." I said, repeating the old children's song to her,

Where magical trees and flowers bloom
When all hope seems lost, and there's nothing to do

"okay... nice song, but how does this help me know what I'm supposed to do?"
"You. Are. Supposed. To. Find. The. World. Of. Legend." I say, exasperated. "did I not make that clear???"
"not really, why exactly do I need to find it? who are you? And also, what's tomorrow?"
"my name is Frayah, leader of the Tyron.  And as for you other questions," I sigh and start over. "tomorrow, is what we use as an expression to represent the coming doom. Once the Xerey have gathered up all of the remaining Tyron they are going to kill us all, and we don't have the strength to resist. we fear that this is going to happed soon. That's why we need you to find the land of legend. If you find it, the is a magical object that give the owner magical powers unlike anything you could ever dream of. With it you could shape shift, cast spells, even bring someone back from the dead. That's why we need it. it's the only thing that can save us."
"There, finally a good explanation. My name's Maggie Tillings by the way. And – wait, did you say bring someone back from the dead?"
"yes, why?" I answered, not sure what to think about the way her eyes lit up.
"let's get going. The quicker we find this the sooner..." she exclaimed, purposely saying the last part quietly so that I couldn't hear.

Sorry if that 'song' doesn't rhyme or doesn't seem to have a tune. To me it does ;)
