Two days later

August(Yungin)POV:

I get up from the couch and walk to the kitchen. My phone is ringing. I pick it up with my left hand and answer.

Phone conversation starts

Me:"hello."

Chantelle:" hey, how are you doing?"

I sigh and walk back to the living room.

Me:" I'm fine. Shot in the arm, but I'm fine."

Chantelle:" oh my goodness! Are you ok? Did you go to the Doctor?"

I smile.

Me:" I'm fine. Stop worrying and no, I didn't go to the doctor, but I'm good."

Chantelle:" well I'm glad you somewhat came back in one piece."

I chuckle. And the doorbell rings. I sigh and cuss in my head. I'm not in the mood for company.

Me:" yes, a somewhat one piece. I'll live though. How's my little princess?"

Chantelle:" she is actually behaving. For once."

I smile

Me:" well, you know I can't see her when I'm like this, so tell her I'm still busy and that I'll call her tonight or tomorrow morning."

Chantelle:" so... you went there because of Rita. Is she alive?"

The doorbell rings again and I sigh.

Me:" someone's at the door, I'll call and explain everything to you."

Phone conversation ends

I open the door and its Nicole. I frown and sigh. Great.

Miracle(MiMi/Mira)POV:

"So, she's alive?"

"Well I'm not sure. My friend said that is what August told her. I doubt she is. She would have been back by now and you know word goes around fast here in the NOLA."

I nod. "Yeah, August loves that girl, he would have already found her. So, this friend of yours..."

She gives me a look. I smile and shrug. "I just want to know. I don't want August anymore. He is poison. He hurt me and I'm done."

London smiles. "Well good for you. Well Nicki is a nice girl. Sweet, a psychologist."

"Let me guess, she's light skinned. He tried to find the next best thing to Rita."

Lauren laughs. "No, I don't think so. Nicki a psychologist, she would have already figured it out. He genuinely was interested in her, until she started asking a lot of questions. I think he liked the fact that she knew nothing about him or his criminal life, nothing. Basically it was like a fresh start for him, someone who could like him for him, and not judge him."

"So why are they not together anymore?"

"Well, like I said, she started asking a lot of questions pertaining Rita and I slipped and told her everything."

My eyes widen. "If he finds out-"

"He knows. He came to see me and threatened me. I know. Anyways after I told her everything, she obviously confronted him and yeah. They basically broke up because of a dead girl. She felt like she was competing with a ghost."
