DISCONTINUED UP FOR ADOPTION Arctic Midnight: a winterwatcher story

🐯 Chapter 1

Lynx woke up with a cold wing around her and thought to herself, who is this idiotic dragon? Then she remembered, three days ago winter had asked her to come with him to sanctuary and, because of the love she had felt for him all her life, she said yes. She rolled out from under his embrace, careful not to wake him, and went out hunting, leaving a note to tell winter where she went so that he wouldn't worry. They were not far from the ice kingdom and she longed to go back to her life as a first circle dragon. But, she couldn't. Why? Because the queen had seen them as they were leaving and banished her from the kingdom. Soon she had caught a couple of lizards and a camel. When she came back to the cave she and Winter were sleeping in, she noticed he was already awake and had made a fire. That was one thing she didn't get about her crush. He was an icewing, but somehow could make a fire and she never understood how or why. A few theories had crossed her mind such as he was a hybrid or an animus. But she found no proof of that whatsoever. She had even had him let her examine him to see if she could find any sign that he wasn't in fact, an icewing. She never found any. Winter called out to her as she landed and she ran over to him, hugging him as though if she let go he would vanish and she would never be able to see him again. "Sorry about your note, he said, I needed it for kindling. How was hunting?" It was terrible, you weren't there." All of a sudden, Winter burst out laughing and she kept asking him repeatedly "what the hell is so funny?" when he finally got himself under control, he said "that was literally the funniest thing I've ever heard. That's not very nice! Lynx said. No no it's the way you said it, all devoid of emotion! It's hilarious!

Time skip

❄️Once they had finished eating, Winter said, "we should head out. If we hurry, we can make it back to sanctuary by nightfall. Lynx followed and said, "then we should get going, freeze face! Ha, ready when you are ice claws. Lynx lifted off, yelling over her shoulder, Lets go then!! Laughing, Winter pushed off the ground and flew off after her, determined to beat her there. He couldn't help feeling a little guilty when he though I wonder if moon wi... NO! STOP IT WINTER. YOU CANT THINK ABOUT MOON RIGHT NOW.
