Chapter Eleven
My eyes flutter open. My cheeks feel sore for some reason. I realize a few moments later that it's from smiling too much. I sigh, not caring. I feel so happy after that date. School couldn't even bring me down that much. I'm kind of starting to dislike school. It makes me annoyed, but today I'm going on another date with Sebastian. I feel happy and excited.
I feel a buzz against my leg. I jump up off my bed. Sebastian must be here. Nobody else texts me, so I don't even bother checking it. I rush to his car. I get in and Sebastian gives me a kiss on my cheek. A smile forms on my lips. I love it when he does that.
"Hey." I say this with a crinkled smile. I try to relax my cheeks a little more.
"We're going to a normal zoo today. I know that you haven't gone to one yet, so I'm taking you." I clap my hands while letting some sort of noise out of my throat.
"Yay! Sebastian, this is great news! I can't wait. You always think of the most perfect dates!" He smirks.
"I'm glad you like the idea."
"Of course I do. You came up with it." He smirks at this and replies to me under his breath.
"That is a first." I frown at this.
"What?"
"Oh, sorry. Nothing." A smile comes to my lips as I realize he probably said that under his breath.
"I think a lot of times you forget I'm reading your lips and not in fact hearing you."
"Yes. All the time. You speak so well and you read lips so well. It's actually hard to believe that you can't hear. Nobody would be able to tell unless you told them."
"You think?"
"I know." I shrug. I hope he's right not because I don't want people to know but because I don't want people to think I'm strange and act weird.
We go to the zoo and see all the cute animals. It was quite an adventure. We pull up to my dorm room.
"So I was wondering. Do you want to have brunch together on Sunday?" I smile like I always do when he wants to see me again.
"I would love to! What time?""Say uh, ten?" I frown.
"Oh I normally go to Mass at ten. I could just go with you though. What time do you normally go to Mass on Sundays?" He doesn't say anything at first. He awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.
"Well, uh. I don't, uh, normally go to Mass on Sundays..." For some reason, this surprises me greatly. I've never met anyone that doesn't go to Mass every Sunday.
"Then you should come with me. I mean, I think you'll like Mass. Now you can take me to Mass and sit with me. I love sitting by Trent and Kim, but we still can sit with them. Whatever you want Sebastian." He frowns. I don't think to give him a choice, but he speaks before I can say anything.
"What time do you need me to pick you up?" I smile at his readiness.
"How about nine thirty?"
"I'll be here.""Yay. I can't wait. You can meet Trent and Kim. Yay!"
I then go to my dorm room. I have mentioned Sebastian to Trent and Kim, but not very much. I'm always hanging out with him rather than them. I love them, but I hate third wheeling. I decide that I should tell them that Sebastian is coming to Mass so I don't shock them too much. I text Kim and Trent in our group chat.
'Do you guys want to have lunch together tomorrow?' After a while, they respond, Trent speaking first.
'Of course. I always want to have lunch with ya.' Kim continues the conversation.
'Yesss. It's been so long since we've had lunch together. Can't wait xx'
I smile down at these messages.
'Goodie! See you tomorrow.'
I do some more schoolwork and go to sleep.

"Do you remember me mentioning Sebastian?" We are mid way through lunch. When I say this, Trent instantly tenses up and frowns.
"Who?" I frown as well. I thought I had told him about Sebastian. I'm telling him now, I guess.
"He's this guy I'm kind of dating. He's really nice and you guys are going to be meeting him Sunday. He's taking me to Mass." Kim smiles as Trent's frown deepens.
"Nia! You didn't tell us you were dating anyone!" I frown. I feel sort of confused.
"Didn't I? I thought for sure I had." Trent rolls his eyes.
"Well, you didn't. How long have you been dating him? Where are we meeting him Sunday?"
"He's coming to Mass with me. He's taking me. We're going to go for brunch. Maybe you guys could come too. We could do a sort of double date."
Kim does seems excited.
"Yes, yes, and yes! This is going to be fun. This will be the first double date we have been on."
Trent smiles slightly."I'm happy for ya, sis. I can't wait to meet him." We finish our lunch peacefully.
