Chapter Fifteen

Finally, it's Wednesday. I actually haven't seen Sebastian since he made the date. I've texted him some, but this week was finals week, and I just finished mine. Summer break is about to start. The only thing I could look forward to during all of the hard work was seeing Sebastian for our fancy date. I decided that I would ask Kim to help me curl my hair and get me all prettied up for this. She's going to be here soon. I feel her text buzz against my leg, and I open the door for her.

"Hey Kim!"

"Nia!" She gives me a hug, and we get to work.

"So what dress do you have picked out? I want to do your makeup and hair to complement it."

I had picked out a blue, knee length dress that is long sleeved and beautiful.

"Aww that's such a pretty dress. I'm so excited to do your hair and things."

She curls my hair and does splendid makeup that isn't too intense.

"Nia, you look beautiful."

I blush slightly. I haven't really had a chance to look in the mirror, but when I do, I realize that I look decent. Kim squeals and gives me a hug.

"This is so exciting." I smile. I've never seen Kim like this before. Maybe she's more comfortable with me now, so she acts more outgoing.

"He's going to be here soon!"

"Oh, yeah. I actually had best be going. See you later. Make sure to tell me how the date goes."

Shortly after she leaves I feel another buzz against my leg. This time it's from Sebastian. Like our last 'fancy' date, he's waiting at the door with flowers. I smile and thank him, putting the flowers on my side table again.

"It's been a heck of a week for me." I sigh. "I can't believe I just finished my first year of college. It feels like just yesterday I started."

"Yeah, it feels like we've known eachother forever rather than almost a year." I smile at this while nodding my head.

"Where are we going today?"

"I was thinking the same place as last time. I mean, you se-"

"YAY! I was kind of hoping in my heart that you would say that." He smirks.

"You were hoping in your heart?"

"YES! I love that place. It's beautiful, and the first fancy date we went on was at that place. Why not the second?"

"Well, good." We go into boring conversations. When we arrive, it's everything that I remember it to be. My mouth is stretched into a very wide smile as Sebastian orders something for me due to me staring at him when he asks. The food arrives looking delicious.

"So Nia.."

"Yes?"

"I have a sort of big question for you..." He looks sort of nervous. I smile while trying to soften his nerves for whatever he has to ask me.

"Ask away." I can see that he's slightly blushing.

"Well, I was wondering, I mean..." He pauses and continues, "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" My already big smile widens.

"YES! Yay!" He smiles too, seemingly relieved.

"Oh good. I was scared you would say something like 'probably'."

I blush. "Yeah, me too. That's definitely something I would say. Ugh." He grins at my embarrassment.

"I got you something just in case you said yes." My eyes widen.

"What did you get me?"

He has a little box. He held it out for me. I open it sort of slowly in anticipation. I lay my eyes on a seal bracelet to match my seal necklace. On the inside of the seal, there is an engraving of the first letter of both our names put together. I gasp in excitement. I'm wearing my seal necklace, so it was good that I could wear them both.

"I love it so much. Thank you!" He smiles, and I break the beautiful moment by squealing out, "You're my first boyfriend! Eek." I, of course, blush very darkly after this and feel deeply embarrassed. He smirks.

"I'm glad. I honestly really enjoy helping you experience things for the first time, though I think this is my favorite." I smile.

"Yeah, me too. I'm just really excited. I'm going to tell my mom and dad and then Aubrey. I wish I had other friends that I could tell."

"As long as you have me you're good."

"Yeah, true." We go on with our dinner, talking about everything and nothing. We decide before our date is over that we will go to the beach and sit on the bench for a while. When we get there and sit down, I just gaze into his eyes, not noticing anything. I notice that his lips were in fact moving.

"Sebastian, I haven't paid attention to a word you said. I'm sorry."

"Oh it's fine. What were you doing then?" I blush.

"I was thinking about the fact that you're my boyfriend. I still can't quite believe it." I blush again. "Sebastian?"

"Yeah?" I blush harder.

"Do you maybe...want to hold hands?" I feel the great embarrassment of this, but his eyes brighten. He instantly intertwines his hand with mine.

"Of course."

"Thanks. I don't know why, but I always imagined I would hold my boyfrien- well ugh, I wish I could say some-" I cut myself off before I say anything else embarrassing.

"Well...you know what I always imagined I would do if I got a girlfriend whom I love?"

"What?" I hope it's something like holding hands so he can be embarrassed too.

"Well...can I kiss you Nia?" Of course he would say something that would embarrass me more and make me blush harder. I realize I've just been staring at him. Before I can say anything, he continues talking. "I mean, if you don't want to yet or something, that's fine. We can find the right moment, er wha-"

I decided to just go for it...kind of. I hold his face in my hands. Right when I'm about to kiss him, he kisses me. It's a small kiss. It's perfect. I smile.

"That was my first kiss." I look into his eyes and lean my head on his shoulder, not wanting to talk anymore for a minute. I wanted to just live in the moment. After a little while, I look back up at him.

"Sebastian?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm pretty sure that was the most perfect kiss. I mean, we had our awkwardness, but let's be real. First kisses are always-" I frown at myself. "Sebastian, why can't I just be normal and not talk abo- ug-" He leans over and kisses my words away. I smile.

"Well, I think you're perfect. I don't care. You have to be almost the most perfect human on earth." I smile at this, then frown. He chuckles at my frown. "Let's just leave it at that with no protests if you will." I smile.

"I guess I will."
