"Boy get out of here." Ivy tried to remain serious staring down Trent who'd started moon walking across Zaine's office hearing Usher's "You Don't Have To Call" blasting from the hotel lobby where everyone was partying and having a good time. While some had decided to go up to their rooms to chill and put their younger children down for naps the others remained downstairs partying with Leena, Zaiya, L'Oréal, Gianni, Amora, and Porsha who'd put smiles on everyone's faces. They'd dragged them all out of the cafeteria and put on music for them to just enjoy themselves as if this was one big family party. Trent on the other hand had decided to slip in his father's office to annoy his parents. It was what he did best but he always made them laugh.
"Come on mama let's dance." Trent took Ivy by the hand.
Zaine laughed to himself watching his son and the woman he still had a soft spot for laugh and dance around. Every time Ivy smiled it made him smile because she'd finally managed to do that again after what he'd put her through leaving her for someone else. He'd broken something inside of her that made her never want to get seriously involved with anybody again. If she started talking to a man when things started to feel like they were getting too deep too fast she'd cut it off. She'd become content in not ever finding love again if it meant protecting herself and her heart. She'd fallen out of love with Zaine long ago but she'd always have love for him for giving her their children. She just used him for sex whenever she could. It was better than just running out and sleeping with a random. Zaine knew what it was between them but sometimes he did find himself wanting to go back home to her.
Pulling at his chin hair he picked up his phone and pretended to be into it for the next few minutes. Eventually Trent left the office to go join everyone else leaving his parents alone. Ivy took a seat across from Zaine.
"Now you know damn well you ain't interested in that." She said. He chuckled and placed it face down on the desk. Ivy raised an eyebrow. "Sweetheart trust I'm not worried about nothing you got going on in that phone. There's no need for all of that." She told him because she honestly didn't care. She knew that he was messing around with other women because Zaine would be Zaine but he also wasn't her headache anymore.
"I really love what you're doing with this place though." She said genuinely. "The people here are so comfortable and they love you."
"Do you love me?" He smirked kicking his feet up on his desk pulling at his chin hair studying her. Ivy rolled her eyes because he always managed to bring them up as if she'd ever take him back. There was just too much heartbreak there to ever even consider such a thing. Ivy had always said that hell would freeze over before she'd ever get back with him.
"I have love for you. Don't ruin a good day tryna get sentimental." She said.
"Yes ma'am." Zaine smiled putting his hands up as if to say that he was backing off. "But thanks. I care about the people here. They deserve a safe space ya know?"
