Everyone in the palace was in chaos. It has been two days since the second prince was missing. They searched everywhere in the kingdom but all of their efforts were in vain.
"Your majesty, did the knights found some leads to where Prince Baekhyun is?" Kyungsoo asks the king worriedly. He's worried sick and he can't rest until he sees Baekhyun. Despite of Baekhyun's rebellious attitude, he considered Kyungsoo as his friend.
The king shook his head dejectedly. "I know it's hard for you but we can't afford to lose hope." Kyungsoo looked at the king who was tearing up. It must be hard for him to have his two sons away from him.
After the ceremony, Baekhyun just disappeared. Just like that, without leaving a trail. No one claimed to have seen him despite of his noticeable appearance. They have asked everyone in the kingdom yet again, they couldn't find the missing prince.
Kyungsoo went to the garden where Baekhyun liked to stay. The doves Baekhyun was very fond of are really noisy nowadays, as if they're trying to tell something. The butler sighed. He really needs to find Baekhyun immediately. He's being paranoid and anxious all the time.
"Kyungsoo?" He was startled to hear his voice. He turned, only to see Jongin smiling softly at him. "You look pale. I know you're worried about his highness but I'm sure if he's here, he would tell you to get some rest."
"Why are you worried about me? You should be worrying at your fiance'." Kyungsoo felt his heart ache when he said those words. Yes, he fell in love with Jongin but he can't bring himself to be jealous at Baekhyun. For him, Baekhyun always comes first before anyone else.
"Kyungsoo, I told you already that you're the one I love." Jongin said desperately.
"No!" Kyungsoo shouts and prevents himself from crying. "We can't be together, you know that. Just... just give up already." He stands up and runs away, leaving Jongin heartbroken.
From the start, he knows where to place himself. He knows his boundaries and priorities. And his priority will always be Baekhyun. The prince accepted him despite of being homeless and an orphan. It was Baekhyun who helped him and sheltered him.
Kyungsoo smiled weakly as he remembers how he met the prince. Because of poverty, the young Kyungsoo attempted to steal. Unfortunately for him, he picked the wrong carriage. It was where Baekhyun was riding on. He was about to get imprisoned when Baekhyun stopped them. He stretched out his hands and happily asked him if he wants to be his butler. No one could refuse the prince that's why Kyungsoo spent his childhood training to be the perfect butler for his highness. He didn't mind it one bit because he knows he could help Baekhyun that way.
The butler flinched when he heard someone talking. Curious, he walked closer until he arrived at the fountain located at the back of the palace. He was surprised to see Jinah together with a middle-aged man who's smaller than average height. He sighed and was about to return when he heard her mention the prince's name.
"Now that the stupid prince is out of the way, they have no choice but to give me the throne." She said wickedly.
"But, milady. Where did you send her?"
She grinned as she paces slowly. "To a place where there are no happy endings." She glanced at the small man and glared at him. "Why are you so nervous, Mr. Han?"
Mr. Han fidgets and looks around him. "What if the prince returns? W-we will be executed!"
Jinah only smirks. "There's a possibility that he could return because this portal here is a two-way. But, the prince is probably that dumb that he won't realize it. If he did, he should be here by now." Kyungsoo's eyes widened when he heard what she said. "You can also only use this portal during midnight or if I activated it. I'm not quite sure with the other way around though."
