“What are you talking about the way he looks at me? He looks at me the exact same way he looks at you or anyone else for that matter.” I stated.

“Are you oblivious or just plain stupid? He looks at you like you are the only person in the room.”She told me. “He didn’t care at all about anything that was happening around you guys. All he was bothered about was looking into your eyes.”

“Bailee-“ I began but I was cut off by Josh shouting and saying that the fireworks would be beginning soon. “We should go up to my balcony, we would be able to see the fireworks better from there” After that we climbed the staircase our section of the house.

We went through to my balcony and sat on the patio furniture that was out there. “So, are you looking forward to school in September?” Bailee asked me.

“Well, not really. I have to start at a new school and that means trying to make new friends and I have never really been great at that. I do better with being a bit of a recluse.” I explained.

“You don’t have to make new friends” she told me “You will probably be going to the school that is on the set and only me and Jared go there so you only have to be friends with us.”

“Well, that takes some of the pressure off.” I told her. We carried on talking until there was a voice behind us.

“Hey guys” It was Jared. “Bailee could me and Becca have a few minutes?”

“Of course” She said as she practically jumped out of her seat. As she was leaving she started to make kissy faces behind Jared’s back. Just like Jen and everyone else had on the plane to LA.

We sat there in silence for a few minutes until Jared said something. “Well, I was messaging Bailee whilst she was up here with you. She told me she told you that she thinks I like you.”

“Yeah. Its ridiculous isn’t it?” I asked him, when he didn’t answer for a while I carried on talking “Jared?”

“Maybe it’s not all that ridiculous.” He said.

“You mean you do like me?” I asked.

“Does this answer your question?” he asked me as her leant in to kiss me. We stayed there for almost a minute Justas the fireworks began. After we pulled apart we sat there for as long as the fireworks continued for. When the fireworks were over there was a shout from Josh downstairs.

“The party is now over please make your way to the front door where the birthday girl will say goodbye to you before you leave. Thank you so much for everything that you have done tonight. And Bailee can you go up to Rebecca’s room after she goes back her room once she has said goodbye to everyone.”

After I heard that I got up to leave my room and Jared grabbed my arm “Becca, before you leave at least tell me how you feel?”

“No Jared just let me go. I need to go and say goodbye to everyone.” I told him.

“Tell me how you feel about me!” He shouted at me.

“I can’t Jared. I don’t know, okay, I just don’t know.” I shouted back.

And with that I left the room I got close to the front door but then I broke out into tears and decided I probably shouldn’t go anywhere that had a lot of people so instead I went to the game room. I sat there and cried for almost an hour and then when the tears had all dried up I just sat there anyway. I don’t know how long I sat there until Jen came and found me but when she did she didn’t say anything that was in anyway reassuring.

“Jared told me what happened. Are you okay?”

“No” I said through the sobs.

“It will get better I know it doesn’t feel like it right now but it will get better. I promise.”

But as I keep telling people, I’m just not good at making friends.
