Lacheana saw the beautiful scenery of the valley of Imraldis. The valley was one place where she knew that she would be welcome and safe.
The mounted elves circled around dwarves until they came to a stop. Lacheana and Elrond rode infront of Gandalf and Lindir. "Gandalf." Elrond greeted the wizard. Gandalf bowed and said: "Lord Elrond. Mellonnen! Mo evínedh?(: My friend! Where have you been?)"
"Farannem 'lamhoth I udul o charad. Dagannem rim na lant Vedui.(: We've been hunting a pack of orcs that came up from the South. We slew a number near the Hidden Pass.)" Elrond spoke in elvish. He dismounted his horse and then he and Gandalf hugged. Lacheana dismounted her horse too and took off her helmet, placing it under her arm. "Strange for orcs to come so close to our borders. Something, or someone, has drawn them near." Elrond said and gave Gandalf a knowing look. He gave Lindir an orc sword.
"Ah, that may have been us." Gandalf assured his assumption. Thorin stepped forward and when Elrond saw him he greeted the dwarf: "Welcome Thorin, son of Thrain." "I do not believe we have met." Thorin said. He could have been a bit more respectful. "You have your grandfather's bearing. I knew Thror when he ruled the mountain." Elrond said. "Indeed. He made no mention of you." Thorin said. Elrond, being the greater man, ignored how Thorin had insulted him and turned to the rest of the dwarves.
"Nartho i noer, toltho i viruvor. Bor i annam vann a nethail vin. (: Light the fires, bring forth the wine. We must feed our guests.)" Elrond said. "What is he saying? Does he offer us insult?" Gloin asked. Lacheana shook her head slightly. She was a bit bored out by the dwarves. "No, master Gloin, he's offering you food." Gandalf put Elrond's words into common tongue. Dwarves quickly discussed it between themselves and then they turned back to Elrond.
"Well, in that case, lead on." Gloin said. Lindir turned but Lacheana grabbed him with her bare hand. "What is it, my lady?" Lindir asked. Lacheana motioned to her armour, she couldn't walk around wearing this huge armour when the other elves were wearing beautiful gowns. "Very well, my lady. I'll lead you to my chambers, where I have a dress for these kind of occasions." Lindir said and lead Lacheana the other direction than the dwarves went.
"Here is the dress. I have to attend my responsibilities at dinner. Your armour will be safe in here." Lindir said while laying the dress on his bed and walking back to the door. "It was my pleasure to be at your service again, my lady." Lindir said before closing the door behind him. Lacheana quickly took off her armour.
This kind of armour usually took two people to get off but Lacheana had trained herself to put it on and take it off by herself since she was usually alone. Soon she was in her off-white linen shirt and black pants. Her armour was now fully black because her body wasn't heating it anymore. Lacheana took the black dress and put it on. The skirt part of the dress lit up in flames. Oh Lindir, you know me so well. She strapped her sword on her waist just incase. Lacheana quickly checked herself from the mirror and then went out the door heading back out to Rivendell.
Her presence caused quite a few stares from other elves. Lacheana was used to it since she looked more like one of the Dark Lord's creation than an almost usual elven-maiden. Lacheana walked to the bridge where the view on the waterfall was the most beautiful. Although a lot of water could be deadly to her she always enjoyed the sound it made when it fell and the fresh scent of it. Lacheana closed her eyes for a moment taking in a deep breath of the fresh air in the valley.
Lacheana saw the flames on her dress fade slowly. She said goodbye to the waterfall and rushed back inside.
She found dwarves joking and burning elvish furniture. What in the name of Varda are they doing? She walked over to them. The dwarves were silent for a moment looking at Lacheana walking straight to the fire. She kneeled next to it and stuck her hand into the flames. Bofur offered Lacheana some sausage but she shook her head no. Bofur then shouted: "Bombur!" and threw the sausage to the rather large dwarf. Bombur caught it and the bench under him broke. The dwarves laughed.
Lacheana smiled for a second but then she saw Elrond and Gandalf going towards a flight of stairs. Elrond stopped before the stairs and looked at Lacheana. She stood up and walked to them. "With or without our help, these dwarves will march on the mountain. They are determined to reclaim their homeland. I do not believe Thorin Oakenshield feels that he's answerable to anyone. Nor for the matter am I or Lacheana." Gandalf explained.
"It is not me you must answer to." Elrond said. Lacheana looked up and saw a fair female elf standing there. She slowly turned around. "Lady Galadriel." Gandalf said. Lacheana bowed deeply. "Mithrandir. Lacheana. It has been a long time." Galadriel spoke with her beautiful voice. "Nae nin gwistant infanneth, mal ú-eichia i Chíril Lorien.(: Age may have changed me, but not so the Lady of Lorien.)" Gandalf said smiling. "I had no idea lord Elrond had sent for you." Gandalf said. "He didn't. I did." a voice came from darkness. Lacheana and Gandalf turned towards the voice and saw Saruman the White. Both of them bowed to the great wizard. "Saruman." Gandalf greeted. "You've been busy of late, my friend." Saruman answered.
Gandalf and Saruman sat behind a big table on a pavilion. Galadriel stood near a window and Elrond walked next to the table. Lacheana stood guard outside the entrance and kept nosy elves out of the White Council's meeting. She wasn't focusing on what they discussed since there was nothing she could say and she knew that her opinion weren't in their interest since she wasn't as wise and great as them. She had to lay her hope on Gandalf's shoulders. Suddenly a female voice started speaking in her mind. Lacheana, why are you traveling with a pack of dwarves? Lacheana turned towards Galadriel and saw her staring at her with a slight and pure smile.
My lady, I truly have not a great answer to give to you. Therefore I cannot tell you why. But I'm bound to the company of Thorin Oakenshield. I would give my life for that dwarf for I am his guard until he doesn't need my assistance anymore or death releases me. Lacheana turned back towards the stairs that lead down from the pavilion. She saw Lindir rushing up them. When he was infront of Lacheana she let him past her.
"My lord Elrond. The dwarves, they're gone." Lindir spoke quickly. Elrond and Saruman went with Lindir. Lacheana walked to Gandalf. "You will follow them?" Galadriel asked. Lacheana nodded and Gandalf said yes. Lacheana bowed and ran to Lindir's chambers to change, leaving Galadriel and Gandalf there.
She layed the beautiful dress, that was now black again, on Lindir's bed. She was in full armour again. Lacheana then went outside and found Gandalf. "Is my lady ready to go?" Gandalf asked. Lacheana nodded and they went to the stables to get a horse for Gandalf. They started galloping along the path that the dwarves had taken.
