They found a cave where the trail disappeared. "I know where this trapdoor leads. Follow me, Lacheana." Gandalf spoke quickly and they walked out of the cave. Gandalf lead Lacheana to a secret door from where they sneaked in. Lacheana saw a huge goblin with a nasty chin.

"Prepare yourself." Gandalf said, when he started casting a spell. Suddenly the whole cavern was filled with bright light. When the light went out Gandalf shouted: "Take up arms. Fight. Fight!" The dwarves got up quickly and picked up their weapons. They slayed goblins and the goblin king, when saw Gandalf's sword, cried out: "He wields the Foe-Hammer, the Beater, bright as daylight!" Lacheana saw how Nori fell down. She saw that the goblin king ran towards the fallen dwarf.

Lacheana was about to jump infront of him but Thorin beat her to it. He deflected the goblin king's mighty blow, which made the big goblin stumble backwards. Lacheana walked up to him and pushed him with her foot so he fell to the depths below. "Follow me. Quickly! Run!" Gandalf shouted and started running away from the throne room, while cutting down goblins.

Lacheana again ran in the back of the company. She tried to destroy as much of the path behind her. "Lacheana!" she heard someone yell and saw that the dwarves were cutting the ropes to the bridge. She ran towards it and jumped on the other path. A loud crack was heard and the goblin king was infront of them. "You thought you could escape me?" he asked furiously and swinged his mace, which caused Gandalf to stumble back. "What are you going to do now, wizard?" the king asked mockingly.

Gandalf struck the goblin's eye with his staff, after what the great goblin clutched his face and cried out in pain. Gandalf then sliced his stomach which caused the goblin to fall down on his knees. "That'll do it." he said, while holding his stomach. Gandalf swung his sword again and sliced the goblin king's neck, ending his miserable life. The weight of the big goblin caused the section of the bridge, where the company stood, to broke away from the rest of the bridge and slid down the side of the cavern. Lacheana looked down. She heard the dwarves scream in fear and terror.

Lacheana waited for the right moment to jump off the bride and land gracefully on her feet, crouching down so she wouldn't break her legs. She stood up and took off her glove, so she could help Gandalf and the others up. She got Gandalf up right before the body of the goblin king landed on top of the dwarves.

"You've got to be joking!" Dwalin shouted angrily. The dwarves started to climb out of the rubble, when Kili looked up and saw a horrific sight. He yelled for Gandalf. "There's too many! We can't fight then." the great warrior dwarf Dwalin shouted. "Only one thing will save us: daylight! Come on! Here, on your feet." Gandalf commanded. The dwarves helped each other up with Lacheana's assistance. Gandalf started running and the dwarves followed him. Lacheana ran at the very back until she felt an unusual feeling. She stopped and looked around. Her fiery red eyes landed on a path on the left that lead into darkness. But even her elf eyes couldn't see anyone there so she ran after the dwarves who weren't in her field of view anymore.

"Where is Lacheana? Lacheana!" Gandalf yelled out. Lacheana was too far for the company to notice her so she took out her dagger. Varda, help me. She threw the dagger into the tree behind Gandalf, so he would notice her. "There she is!" Gandalf said with relief before he started counting. "... five, six, seven, eight... Bofur, Bifur... that's ten... Fili, Kili.... That's twelve... Bombur and Lacheana, that makes fourteen. Where's Bilbo? Where is our hobbit?" Gandalf asked looking at the dwarves.

"Curse the halfling! Now he's lost?!" Dwalin raged. Lacheana would have slit his throat but she didn't want to cause any trouble, so she pushed the raging feeling down. She heard someone behind her. Lacheana looked around but nobody was there. She took off her helmet and listened very intently. Suddenly Bilbo stepped out from behind a big tree. Lacheana burrowed her brows. She hadn't seen the hobbit step behind that tree.

Bilbo saw the questioning glare that Lacheana gave him and his heart sank. He knew that she knew that something was odd. She saw Bilbo and the rest of the company discuss something but she walked over to the tree with her dagger in its trunk and pulled it out. She then sniffed and felt a foul smell in the air. Her first reaction was to put her helmet on her head as fast as she could.

"What is the matter?" Gandalf asked after noticing her actions. And at that moment a bloodcurdling howl was heard. "Out of the frying pan..." Thorin started but Gandalf took over saying: "...and into the fire! Run! RUN!" The company started running wargs not very far from them.

Lacheana saw a warg corner Bilbo. She saw the small hobbit holding his sword infront of him and the warg running into it. Lacheana saw him struggling to get it out of its skull. She jumped next to him, startling the hobbit a bit, and pulled out his sword with one swift move. She then threw the sword at him and ran closer to the trees, Bilbo following her closely. Lacheana saw that there was room for only one so she grabbed Bilbo and put him on one of the branches. She then pulled out her sword and shield and stood her ground. "What are you doing?!" Bilbo screamed out in horror. Protecting you, you fool!

Lacheana was shocked when she saw a pale orc, who should have been dead long ago. "Azog?" Thorin's voice came from the top of a tree. "Nuzdigid? Nuzdi gast?(:Do you smell it? The scent of fear?) Ganzilig-i unarug obod nauzdanish, Thorin undag Thrain-ob.(: I remember your father reeked of it, Thorin son of Thrain.)" the pale orc spoke. My black speech is rusty.

"It cannot be." Thorin sighed out. "Kod, Toragid biriz.(: That one is mine.) Worori-da!" Azog commanded. The wargs charged on. Lacheana struggled to hold the wargs back. The fighting lead her away from the tree where Bilbo and the dwarves and Gandalf were. It was the tree closest to the edge of the cliff. Lacheana did the best thing she could think off and set the surrounding of the tree on fire so the wargs couldn't go near it. Azog roared in anger when he saw one of the wargs run away, its fur on fire. Lacheana collapsed down in the middle of the fire. She had used a lot of power and felt now very weak. The cries of dwarves filled the air. She fought to hold her eyes open. Lacheana slightly moved her head towards the cries and saw that the tree with most of the dwarves had fallen down. She started pulling herself towards that tree but her strength hadn't yet come back so she didn't get far. The last thing she saw before her eyes fluttered close was a very majestic Thorin walking down the leaning trunk.

Lacheana jumped up. She had recovered enough strength to come to consciousness. Bilbo was preparing for his death when he saw Azog swinging his mace. He closed his eyes for he didn't want to see what was going to happen next. But a sudden warmness leaped over him and took the hard hit. Bilbo opened his eyes and saw Lacheana laying next to him with her eyes closed. Azog's warg turned back to Bilbo but he was distracted by the eagles. Azog snarled in frustration before riding away on his white warg. An eagle gently lifted Lacheana's unconscious body in the air and flew away.

"Why is she so cold? She should be too hot to touch! Why can I touch her?" Bilbo cried out. Gandalf knelt down next to Lacheana's unconscious body and carefully took off her helmet. He placed his hand on Lacheana forehead and whispered a spell. Lacheana's eyes flew open and she jumped up, grabbing for her sword.

"Lacheana, you are not in danger anymore." Gandalf soothed Lacheana. She stared into Gandalf's dark greysh blue eyes. She realized she wasn't threatened and fell down on the ground sitting and letting her head fall on her chest. "Quick! Give me something to set on fire." Gandalf ordered and looked at the dwarves.

"I have that." Fili said handing him an unburned pinecone. Gandalf grabbed it from him and lit it on fire. He then quickly placed it into Lacheana's palms and closed them. Lacheana looked into Gandalf's dark eyes for a moment before pressing the burning pinecone against her chest. The flames on her armour grew slightly bigger again. She looked up at Thorin who walked past her. "Is it what I think it is?" Bilbo asked looking at the direction Thorin was. "Erebor... The Lonely Mountain. The last of the great dwarf kingdoms of Middle-Earth." Gandalf said. "Our home." Thorin whispered with a bit of longing and proudness in his voice. Lacheana stood up and walked next to the dwarf king. She took off her gauntlet and placed her fair hand on Thorin's shoulder. Lets get your home back.
