Thunder grunted and pushed himself off the ground, weakly getting onto his wobbly knees. He supported himself using his sword that was pierced into the ground.
He was badly beaten up, few of his wounds still bleeding. His tux was in tatters and covered in soot. He was panting hard and blinking rapidly to clear his vision.
After pulling himself together, he looked around the war zone to see all the destruction.
Rubbles decorated the streets and not a single house was left intact.
Thick black smoke rose to the sky, covering the sun. It was difficult to predict whether it was day or night.
Few areas were painted red but there was no lives lost, not yet.
Thunder's eyes finally landed on the unmoving bodies of his comrades.
Ice and Quake were no different than himself, they were equally injured. But they were knocked out cold, unable to fight any longer.
"Please stay put, don't die on me yet." Thunder whispered, limping towards them using his sword as a walking stick.
He bent down to check their pulse and sighed in relief when he found one.
Thunder's eyes were immediately scanning the area, searching for the other.
"Ugh.."
The red knight whipped his head towards the voice, expectantly.
He sighed in relief.
"Blaze!!!"
He limped as fast as he can towards the younger and helped him sit up, slumping next to him.
"Are you alright?" He asked, already checking him for any serious injuries.
"Looks like Quake is not the only mama." grunted Blaze, flinching hard when Thunder hit a sore spot.
"Sorry!"
Blaze sighed, wiping the blood off his cheek. His hands were injured the most and his knuckles were bleeding. His overshirt was gone.
"Are they going to be alright?" He asked eyeing the fallen duo.
"They'll survive." Thunder replied bluntly.
Blaze looked at him with a weird look, concerned about his reply.
"We've been through worse." Thunder sighed.
"What's wrong?" Blaze asked, shifting to get comfortable on the ground without worsening his wounds.
"I'm just worried about the others.. I hope they're safe." he said, getting up on his feet with his sword still as a support.
He proceeded to help the other up, the latter complaining in pain.
"Quit acting like a baby."
Thunder suddenly flinched as he felt a sharp pain in his arm.
It was followed by a evil laughter echoing throughout the place.
"I'm surprised that you're still standing." mocked a voice.
Thunder's features darkened and he turned around, stepping before Blaze.
"Solar."
"I thought you were better than that Thunderstorm." said Solar, disappointment lacing his voice.
Blaze was about to retort but Thunder stopped him while glaring at Solar.
"I trusted you to be my personal Knight, I promoted you, I made you live in the castle with me. But this is how you repay me!! By plotting against me right under my nose!!?!" Solar snapped.
But Thunder wasn't fazed, his expression never changed.
"How did you find out about this!?" He asked evenly.
"I have the most trustworthy Knight who is way better than you." Solar huffed as the said man stepped around him.
But what got the attention of the duo was the unconscious maiden he was carrying.
"YING!!!"
"What did you do to her!!?" Blaze growled.
"It's a pity that the others escaped. I was hoping to send the whole family to oblivion." Solar said, completely ignoring Blaze.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on my family or anyone from Rintis!!" Thunder snapped.
"What could you possibly do?" Solar asked, fixing his glasses.
Thunder growled.

Soon after the happy reunion with their family, the seven were attacked without a warning.
War trumpets sounded, arrows rained, swords clashed, People screamed running for their lives.
The seven had immediately dislodged the weapons they chose to carry around. But they were still left in defence.
Quake had taken the intitative to take the normal citizens to safety; Cyclone and Thorn were forced to tag along.
Afterall, it was Thunder's order.
Quake lead them to other end of the city where he saw an opening to the outside world.
He made the duo incharge and asked them to flee afar.
"But-"
"Do it now!!" Quake snapped.
The duo shuddered and carried on with their task at hand.
Their parents were reluctant to leave the other four behind but they had no other choice.
Quake immediately rejoined his brother, fighting along side them.
It was an unfair fight, an whole army against four adolescents.
But the four were able to stand their ground, bringing few soldiers down even though they really didn't want to.
Quake used his shield to knock out the enemies while Ice used his bow and arrows.
Thunder had a keen eye on Blaze who was new to all of this. He was doing a good job of fending off the knights using his fists and weapons.
Thunder himself used his sword and agility to his advantage.
But before he knew it, he was separated from his brothers and his memory was hazy after that.

A painful groan cut off the staring contest between the King and his personal Knight.
Thunder whipped his head to the side, to see Quake and Ice, trying to help each other up. Blaze ran to them as fast as he can in his injured state.
He could have rushed to help them if it wasn't for the brat and his knight having his friend hostage.
He tched, glaring hard at the Knight.
Ice and Blaze supported Quake as he was injured worse than them.
"Thanks.." he whispered as his eyes trailed up, landing on the Knight and going wide.
"Fang?"
