The bathroom door opened, but all I could feel was my heart beating out of my chest. He walked into the kitchen and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Why aren't you eating?" My eyes glanced at the receipt again before I looked back up at Brendon. Knitting his eyebrows, he looked closely at what was in my hand. Once he figured it out, he sighed heavily.

"I'm assuming you saw my prescription on there?" I nodded slowly, shamefully keeping my eyes on the ground. Brendon slowly pulled the paper out of my hands and placed it on the table.

"Baby, are you okay?" Of course he knew I wasn't, he was just trying to get me to spew out my feelings.

"What's the prescription for?" I finally looked up and locked eyes with him. He wasn't angry, or happy, he just seemed disappointed. Although I wasn't sure if he was disappointed in me or in himself. "When I Googled it, it said it was mostly used for heart conditions. Please tell me that's not why you have it..."

He placed both hands on mine, wrapping his fingers around my palm. He got up, signalling that he wanted to move. I followed him as he brought us to the couch. "I'm sorry that I've been keeping this from you, but it's not something I like to tell everyone. I have an arrhythmia, it's a basic heat condition, mine is harmless because I treat it and because I'm healthy. There's nothing to worry about, princess."

His lips came in contact with my cheek, causing them to burn with a blush. I played with his fingers and looked up at him again. He looked worried, which killed me. All-day he's been making everything perfect for me and trying to me feel like a queen, and now I just ruined the day by bringing up something he obviously isn't ready to talk about.

"I'm sorry Brendon, I shouldn't have brought this up. I don't wanna make you uncomfortable, especially since you spent all day doing stuff for me." Yet again, I looked down in shame. The feeling of his fingertips finding their way under my chin urged me to smile, but I refused.

"There's no need to be sorry, baby. I should have told you, but I just didn't want you to worry. I'm okay, I'm healthy and I'll never leave you, okay?" He flashed me a sincere smile, pulling me into a hug. I squeezed my head into his chest and took a deep breath, breathing in his natural smell. It always put me at ease.

"But princess, if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask me." His hands rubbed up and down my back as I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around the back of his neck. My mind raced with terrible scenarios of Brendon getting sick, and I needed to do something to get my mind off of it.

"Brendon...?" We both broke the hug and he titled his head, indicating that he's listening. "What is your heart condition, how does it affect you?"

Scooting closer to me, I wrapped my legs around his waist and placed my hands on his shoulders, paying attention to him closely. Before he spoke, he kissed my neck.

"An arrhythmia is when there's a problem with the rhythm of the heartbeat. So my heart may beat faster and it may beat slower than normal. The pills I take help keep my heart rate in between too fast and too slow, and I take them twice a day, one in the morning, one at night, same time." I bit my lip nervously and nodded, letting my head rest on his shoulder. Again, he started to rub my back.

Quietly, tears started to form in my eyes and I could feel the waterworks about to rain down. His soft voice started to sing in my ear, but I couldn't make ou the song over the battle in my head. Slowly, tears started to fall from my eyes and my quiet whimpers turned into a low sob. Brendon's hands moved from my back and onto my shoulders.

"C'mon, please don't do this, you're gonna make me tear up." He chuckled, and I could see his eyes start to weld with tears. I wiped away my tears, even though there were more bound to fall. This was the first time I saw Brendon cry, and it was definitely the last time I wanted to see this.

"I'm just worried now. Brendon, I don't want to lose you. You are everything I could have ever asked for and more! You're... you're the love of my life." Through tears, he smiled, softly pressing his lips against mine. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach as he pressed my body up against his. After a few more moments, we both let go, looking at each other's tear-stained faces. He placed a warm hand on my cheek.

"Fae, I promise, I will never leave you, you understand that? You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and this," he pointed to his heart, "as much as it likes to fuck with me, will always be yours and will always love you, you got that?"

I nodded and pursed my lips, placing a hand in his hair. He pushed his glasses up and looked in my eyes, staring as if he were in a trance.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" I joked, watching as he snapped back to reality. He rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"Just thinking of how I'm gonna propose to you in the future. Would you prefer fireworks or a fancy restaurant?" We both laughed.

"If you're the one proposing, then I don't care. Brendon, I will accept your hand in marriage beside a dumpster if you asked me." Faking a gag, he grabbed onto my ass and picked me up, bringing us into the kitchen.

"Dumpster it is then! Now eat your cake before it gets stale."
