We stayed at my place until Sherry's little friend arrived.

Sherry wanted to help me put everything back but I told her not to think much of it.

The only reason I'd want to put everything back is if my mom comes back home.

Sure she'd be upset at how the place turned out, but at least I know shes home safe and sound.

We were here for another 30 minutes until we heard a helicopter nearby.

Sherry- "That's him."

Me- "Greaaaat.."

Sherry and I made our way out of the door and headed over to the extraction point after I locked the door.

They didn't land very far from where we were but still, taking my bike would've been faster.

Sherry- "CHRIS!!"

I snap out of my thoughts and saw Chris walking up to Sherry.

Sherry- "Sorry to call on such short notice, but we need a favor."

Chris turned his gaze to me.

Me- "How's it going?"

Chris then turned his attention back to Sherry.

Chris- "You told me over the phone that you needed to get to Africa for classified reasons...but I didn't know Jake was accompanying you."

He glanced towards me, causing me to scoff.

Me- "Look if me being with Sherry makes you THAT uncomfortable then you can be the one to hold her hand, okay?"

Chris- "Its not that it makes me uncomfortable, its because I'm still not sure if I can trust you.."

Me- "Why? Because you killed Dear Old Dad? Look we've already been over this, if I wanted to do something crazy, I would've done so already."

Chris- "Yeah...You would've..."

He then turned around and headed towards the chopper.

Chris- "Lets get going."

Sherry and I then followed after him.

Once we were strapped on, the chopper took off.

The whole ride was quiet.

No one said anything to each other, not that I minded of course.

I kept my gaze towards the window that was on the side door, but I could feel Chris' gaze on me every so often.

Me- "You know a picture would last longer.."

Chris- "What?"

Me- "Well if you want to keep staring at me then might as well take a picture right?"

Chis just sat back and averted his gaze.

Sherry- "Jake....lets just focus on our objective here."

I sighed then sat back.

I watched from the window besides me as we go further and further away from my home.

Never really felt homesick until now.

Its been a long time since I set foot there but last time I felt nothing by it.

So why now?

Maybe because I know mom will come home once we find her?

I hope she's okay.

I don't know what I would do if I find her and she's in critical condition.

That is if she's still alive.

Just have to believe that she is.

Because if I didn't then I'd probably be a mad man by now.

_______________

Chris- "We're almost there, just a bit longer."

Sherry- "We can't thank you enough for helping us out Chris."

Me- "We?"

Sherry- "Yes Jake, we."

Me- "Yeah I guess."

Chris- "Its no trouble, Piers and I have some business to take care of, we'll just drop you guys off and then we will head over to our extraction point."

After some time the Chopper got lower as it prepared to land.

Chris- "We're here."

Me- "Hallelujah.."

Once the helicopter landed, we unstrapped ourselves and got out through the side door.

Sherry- "Thanks again for the lift Chris."

Chris- "No problem, you just call me when you're done here, I'll send someone else to come by and pick you guys up if I'm not available."

Sherry- "Thanks again, be safe on your way to your mission."

Chris waved goodbye and closed the side door.

We stepped away from the chopper as it began to take off again.

Sherry stood there waving goodbye until the chopper was already taking off.

Me- "Are you done waving? My arm would've gotten tired if I were you.."

Sherry- "You didn't have to talk to Chris like that."

Me- "Sorry if that that bothered you, but I don't like being glared at."

Sherry- "He wasn't glaring, I'm sure he was still trying to get used to you."

Me- "Whatever, either way he's gone so I guess we can put all this behind us."

Sherry nodded and pulled out her device to find the tracker.

Sherry- "From what Chris told me before, the base ahead had been abandoned ever since he....."

I sighed.

Me- "You don't need to sugar coat it, I already know."

Sherry- "....anyways...Chris says that he doubts we will find any B.O.W.s in that base....but....you know.."

Me- "Yeah...I'm already prepared in case he lied."

Sherry- "Its not that he lied, but he thought he and his partner at that time wiped the entire base free of B.O.W.s. but we won't know until we-."

Me- "-Yeah yeah, lets just get this over with."

With that me and Sherry slowly made our way towards the temple looking base, another day another migraine...

(A/N: Sorry this chapter was so short, all of my writing went to the prologue I had to make earlier because apparently a lot of people didn't read the Sequel Alert on the previous book and now I'm the bad guy for making the time skip without an explanation, oh well xP)
