Humanity's Relief (Sequel to The Cure For Humanity)

Chapter 4

(A/N: So I had a 12 hour nap yesterday and going to sleep 6 hours later was NOT going to happen XD So I stayed up all night writing, and I managed to get a lot of the book done, so LETS DO THIS!!)

Man what a journey this was.

And here I thought the last mission me and Sherry had was complicated.

I was told that villages in Africa were so small and easy to come around but why was it like a damn maze?

There were times that me and Sherry reached dead ends and had to work our way around.

 Luckily for us Whats-His-Face was right about this whole place being vacant.

If we ran into some B.O.W.s while trying to find our way around, I think we'd be more screwed than last time.

Or maybe the adrenaline would help us move faster?

Who knows, either way I'm glad we're headed for the right path.

We found some boats over by the dock and thankfully they were still working so we headed over by a river and followed the current.

Sherry mentioned that her 'friend' had to find a cave in order to get to the base.

So all we had to do is look for the cave and the rest is a piece of cake, right?

Why do I feel like this is too easy to accomplish?

I've been a Merc for a few years to know that there is no such thing as an EASY mission.

Even if it was easy, it comes at a price.

Whether there's a trap behind it all.

The final boss is waiting at the final gate.

Or better yet, someone is playing the cards and watching us run around like a bunch of idiots.

Sherry- "Find anything yet?"

I looked around and saw nothing but water.

Me- "Nope, nothing yet."

Sherry- "I feel like we've been sailing forever."

Me- "You're telling me...And here I thought the cave was going to be right in front of us."

Sherry- "Chris did mention that it took him and his partner some time to find it."

Me- "What were they doing? Fighting some Loch Ness monster?"

Sherry- "Well...He-."

Me- "-Don't answer..."

Sherry instantly got quiet then turned her attention back onto the open waters.

God why am I like this?

Sherry didn't mean any harm by it, I just hate it when she always takes what's-his-name's side.

Wait.

Why do I sound like some jealous schoolgirl?

I'm not jealous.

I just get really annoyed whenever he's mentioned.

Maybe I give her chances to mention him?

I should probably just shut the hell up next time.

Sherry- "Jake! I see a cave! Over there!"

I look over to where she's looking and sure enough, there's a cave in the distance.

Me- "Alright then, lets have a look inside and see what lies within."

We slowly entered the cave and saw nothing.
