Chapter 18

(Your POV)

Jake- "Stay back! I got this!!"

Jake ran back towards the Maze Room as my mom followed after him.

Without thinking I started to run towards the ladder to climb up when Sherry got a hold of me.

Sherry- "Don't!"

Me- "Let me go I have to help him!"

Sherry- "Mrs. Muller you are still hurt from when it hit you, you need to rest and let Jake handle this!"

Me- "I have to make sure he doesn't do anyth-!"

Leon- "-You need to believe that he can handle himself!"

Me- "Its not that I don't think he can't handle himself, I'm just worried my mother will do worse damage to him."

Leon- "Chris, we should go lend him a hand."

Me- "I'll come to-ack!"

I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my ribs and fell to my knees again.

I coughed a bit and saw some blood on my hand.

Crap..

Helena- "Are you okay?"

Me- "Y-Yeah...its just a scratch.."

Sherry- "You need to rest Mrs Muller, you have already taken enough damage from all of this.."

Me- "I can still fight.."

Chris- "Keep fighting and you'll be as good as dead.."

Me- "This isn't the first time I fought her while injured.."

Leon- "But this time is different...its probably a lot stronger since the last time you faced it.."

I sighed.

He's right.

She did grow stronger.

 Well more like the virus inside of her.

I even realized that it got harder and harder for me to inject the sleep serum on her whenever she would wake up.

So far talking to her the moment she woke up was the best way to get her calm and relaxed.

But the more berserk she got, the more stubborn she gets.

And there was no doubt that this was the most stubborn she has ever gotten.

Sherry- "Mrs Muller?"

I sighed in defeat.

Me- "Alright...I trust Ja-..."

I started coughing again.

Leon- "I think you should get to safety in case things get out of hand."

Me- "You mean...leave this place?"

Helena- "We can't guarantee your safety if you stay."

Me- "But I need to st-."

Sherry- "-Jake would want you to be safe, he did come all this way to bring you home after all..."

I turned to look at where the doorway was and looked down.

Me- "Yeah...I guess...."

Chris looked at Piers.

Chris- "Take her back to our base."

Piers- "Yes captain."

Leon- "Helena, you go with them.."
