It was no secret. You and Topper were the Outer Banks it couple. Everyone wanted to get with you, as everyone thought you were the prettiest girl on the island. Topper thought so too, so when you agreed to be his girlfriend- he flipped out. He didn't stop smiling for almost a week.
He had just driven you to one of the infamous Cameron parties, hosted by none other than Rafe and Sarah Cameron. Sarah's been one of your best friends for years. You were both born into the Kook life, and had made friends with Pogues and Kooks alike. Sarah and John B were dating, and you were dating Topper, but you've always had a special connection with Pope. Something about him and his intelligence drew you to him.
Pope happened to be at the party as well, so you excused yourself from Topper to say hello. After talking for a while you went back to Topper who seemed angry. "What's wrong baby?" I asked. "(Y/n)... You've gotta stay away from those Pogues. They're crazy!" Topper exclaimed, as if he knew from personal experience. "Topper, Pope is one of my best friends! Stop it, please." I frowned. He just rolled his eyes and walked away. Rafe took his place. "Jesus, Rafe, not now-"
"Hey, look. I'm not gonna get on your ass about the Pogues. You know how I feel. But Topper's never had anyone like you. He really likes you and he doesn't want to lose you. Also, he's almost a 12 in his shoes." Rafe winked. I blinked back at him. "So...?" I questioned. Rafe rolled his eyes. "So! The bigger the shoe the bigger the-" I grimaced. "Stop! Stop. Okay. Thanks, Rafe." I said sarcastically. I walked off in search of Top.
I found him upstairs, sitting on Rafe's bed. "Top... I know you don't like the Pogues, but you just have to trust me. They're good people! Just because they're not top tier in wealth doesn't mean they don't deserve our friendship. I love you, Top, and that's not going to change." I sighed. I crawled into the bed, curling up next to Topper. "Okay, baby." He said softly. "Okay? Good. I love you." I whispered, starting to doze off. "I love you too, sweetheart."
