Chapter 10: Thanksgiving...Smoke
April

April walked back inside the living room ready for war. She thought this would be the end of it but clearly people didn't get the memo and if they did they clearly didn't give a fuck about it but it was cool she was here for the all the smoke. She was ready for whatever at this point. She had been mentally preparing herself for anything and everything since that uneasy feeling hit her.

April kindly turned off the music and faced her little cousins. "I'm a need y'all to go to another room preferably the basement" she said sternly daring any one of them to question her. Immediately realizing that she wasn't playing they got up and started walking out of the living room.

"You know what stay right there" she stopped them. "Who the fuck answered the door and let this bitch in" she questioned. She had heard it go off earlier but figured someone had locked themselves out and she knew none of her immediate family had seen her because if they did she would've been alerted and with today being a holiday she could see her parents getting her out of the house before even being noticed.

"I did" her little cousin Tiana timidly spoke up and stepped out of the bunch looking as if she was in trouble but she wasn't.

"We don't answer the door for strangers" April said dead ass serious. Ole girl was now considered a stranger and an employee and that's just what it was.

"But it's"

"A stranger" April said cutting her off. "I'm not mad at you boo but she's not welcomed here anymore" April said. She wasn't mad at her cousin for opening the door and letting her inside let alone she wasn't mad that they were talking to her. She hadn't let the family in on what had gone down between them but maybe it was time to do so just so they would be cautious of her and if they chose to stay in contact with her they would know what information to keep to themselves. She had to let them know that she couldn't be trusted when it came to telling her secrets and she wasn't loyal to anyone but herself.

"Ok" she nodded.

"Aight y'all go head" April nodded and faced the stranger as her crew stepped inside the room to see what the commotion was all about but nobody said a word once they saw who it was because they knew April was going to and needed to handle the situation.

"Now you know damn well I don't fuck with ya ass. I don't even know why you thought coming here of all places would be cool" April said straight up and smoothly started tightening her bandana headband until it was fixed around her hair like a ponytail holder and holding her hair in a pineapple.

"I didn't come here to start trouble. I went to mommy and daddy's and no one was home so I figured they would be here. I had nowhere else to go" she said saddened but April wasn't here for it. It didn't matter how sad she sounded, pouted, or anything else. April just wasn't here for it.

"This is the last place you want to be Hazel. I ain't off ya ass. We not fuckin cool and we ain't ever gonna be cool" April said ready to square up. She had asked for the smoke and here it was standing right in her living room and she was ready to release her own cloud of smoke. Anybody could get it.
