People can be cruel, I know this. It is, sadly, not exactly news to me. However, when someone you love, maternally and romantically, looks at you with no emotion in their eyes, it is a pain unlike anything else. Alastor's smile dimmed and Zain just glanced at me before looking back at his phone. Why were they acting like this? What's wrong with them? I wasn't even gone that long! 20 minutes at most! How did this happen? Neither of them speak, neither of them give any further indication they even know I'm here. I go cold. No, not me, the room. The temperature in the room plummets to the point I can see my breath in the air in front of me.

"What..?" I whisper. What a weird ass day.

"Hello, my lovely rose," a soothing voice greets me, and I slowly turn around. A stunning women, a vision surrounded by light, the same white light I use, is standing there, her golden eyes observing me.

"You, you're the one Ambrose was talking to!" I gasp. She's here for Charlie! "You can't have her!"

"But what else am I meant to bring back?" She frowns slightly. It doesn't suit her. I want so badly to see her beautiful smile, I'd give her anything. No! This isn't your thoughts. It's what she wants you to feel. SNAP OUT OF IT VALERIE! I shake my head.

"Stop it.." I mumble. Then yell it. "STOP IT!"

The angle, I realise now, looks genuinely taken aback by my raised voice. My vision is white washed and there's a steady hum around me. I glance in a mirror and see tendrils of pure white light gently wrapped around me, protecting me it seems.

"How..." she glows fiercer, as if trying to do the same. "HOW CAN YOU CONTROL IT?"

There's a lot of yelling going on, I realise. We are both as surprised as each other, of each other. I give her a shrug. "What exactly is "it"?" I widen my eyes. And whisper "Pennywise?"

"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE POWER YOU HAVE!" She screamed at me. I wince, glancing at Charlie, Alastor and Zain. They haven't moved.

"Did you do this?" I gesture to my friends. No, my family. "Who are you? What do you want with Charlie?"

She sighs. "Yes, I froze their minds at a vulnerable state, my name is Liviathen, I'm one of the Council Members that oversee the transition of souls from Earth to either Hell or Heaven, and what I want with her is none of your concern," Liviathen tilts her head. "If you like, you may write her a goodbye letter. I'll personally see to it's delivery."

Without waiting for an answer, Livianthen moves swiftly to grab Charlie. "No," I say, and a white tendril grabs the wrist closest.

"I beg," her voice changed in an instant. No longer soothing, Livianthen's tone sends buckets of ice down my spin. "Your pardon?"

"I said, no," I shake my head at her. "You won't be taking Charlie."

Liviathen pauses as if thinking. "If you like, we can make a deal?"

"What kind?"

"The kind that allows your friend to stay," she smiles. "For a price, of course."

"Alright," I say after a while. "Name your price."

"I need to bring a soul of the light back with me," what the hell does that mean? "I was going to bring back Miss Magne, as her blood is Angelic and would serve its purpose, however, you poses the capability to manipulate the light, like I."

"So, to be clear," you better not fuck this up, V. "I come with you in place of Charlie and.... Then what?"

"I get what I need," my mind races. I try and think back to something, anything I know about Angles. It clicks.

"Counter offer," I say slowly, mind racing. "You leave Charlie with us.... But take all memories of me." Liviathen twitches, her eyes wide. I was right. Memory is a source of power for them. "Erase me from their minds, from everyone's minds. Zain was an only child, Alastor is still a psychotic killer, everyone here. No one knows me, my name or anything. Is that enough power to compensate?"

"Why don't I take both?" Liviathen narrows her eyes.

"Because you can't harness memories power without permission," I smile. I will not cry. I'll see them again. "Do we have a deal?"

She hesitates, but sure enough, she shakes my hand. A ball of blazing golden light erupts from our clasped hands, and Zain and Alastor drop, asleep. After a while, the ball retracts into Liviathen and I know she has everyone's memories. I'm so sorry my Su talun. Please don't forget

how much I love you.
