A/N: I type this while under 3 blankets, wearing sweatpants, a hoodie, fuzzy socks, and with my very warm/fluffy dog cuddled next to me on my bed to supply me with extra warmth. Why, you ask? Because my brother said he was tOo HoT so he turned the a/c on and now my room is freezing.
Anywhoooo, I'm actually updating two nights in a row! SHOCKER.
I fluttered my eyes open at the sound of rain hitting the window. Five still had his arm wrapped around me while he remained asleep, but I had turned to face the wall at some point during the night. Now my back was pressed against his chest, with his arm draped loosely around my waist. It was quite comfortable, I'm not gonna lie. I contemplated for a few minutes on how I would get out of bed without waking him, but eventually he started shifting. I could tell he was waking up, so my first instinct was to pretend I was still asleep. Why? I don't know, it just seemed logical. I quickly shut my eyes and didn't make a sound.
Five's POV
I opened my eyes, blinking for a moment to get my vision to clear up. I lifted my head up from the pillow and looked down at Caroline still sleeping peacefully. I smiled to myself, she looked actually adorable. I shook my head, pushing away those thoughts. I'll admit, the kiss was wonderful, but I knew she only did it to prevent Jason from talking to her. I realized that as soon as she looked behind me at him starting his motorcycle to see his reaction.
I slowly removed my arm from around her waist, careful not to wake her. I slipped out from under the covers, replacing them over her to make sure she was still comfortable. I changed quietly into a fresh uniform, then put my shoes on before leaving my room by the door, afraid that the sound of my space jump would wake her.
Caroline's POV
I heard the door close softly and waited a few minutes before I dared to move. I sat up in bed and stared out the window, watching the rain tap against the glass. I looked over on the desk to see my Griddy's uniform folded neatly next to another Umbrella Academy uniform, also folded neatly. I got out of bed and padded over to it. There was a piece of paper folded on the uniform with Caroline printed in cursive on it. I picked it up and opened it.
Good Morning! I washed your work uniform for you, as it had flour all over it. I hope you don't mind. I also brought one of Allison's old uniforms up for you to wear. It looks about your size. Let me know when you're awake, I'll make eggs and bacon for you! - Grace
I smiled and set the note back down next to my work uniform. I changed into Allisons old uniform, and Grace was right. It fit perfectly. I slipped on the black dress shoes Grace had brought as well to go with it. I looked in the mirror and fixed my hair a bit before I walked out of Five's room, closing the door behind me.
I walked down the stairs and into the living room, looking around. No one was in there, thankfully. I glanced at the clock. 7am. Wow. It's been awhile since I woke up this early without an alarm. I remembered it was Sunday, meaning I had school tomorrow. Ugh. I rolled my eyes at the thought, then walked towards the kitchen. I peeked in and saw Five making coffee, facing away from me. I wonder if he heard me coming downstairs? In case he didn't, I decided to just go back upstairs and leave him a note before I make a beeline for the exit.
Of course, with my luck, as soon as I turned quickly to do just that without him noticing me, my forehead smacked right into the wall. I yelped and clutched my head. So much for him not noticing me. He turned abruptly at the sound, looking at me. I heard him chuckle and opened my eyes to see him look at me for a moment then return his attention to the coffee. "I'd ask you if you'd like some coffee, but you don't strike me as the type," He said. "Not exactly. Have any juice?" I asked, taking a few steps forward. He shrugged and nodded towards the fridge. I assume he was telling me to check, so I went and opened it.
