A/N: It is currently 6:08am as I write this on Mother's Day, so I technically should be making the cinnamon roll pancakes and homemade glaze I planned on surprising my mom with when she wakes up, but my brother just texted me (even though his room is right across from mine) saying that mom is planning on sleeping late. So now I have time to kill!

Also I haven't slept in 27 hours so if this is bad, I apologize.

Ringing. My ears were ringing. I could faintly hear voices talking very quickly, but the loudest thing was the stupid fucking ringing. I slowly opened my eyes, quickly closing them right back up when I saw the blinding lights. I tried again, blinking a few times. I saw Five next to me, coughing, holding my hand tightly. There was two people I didn't recognize on the other side of me, in dark blue uniforms. Around us was metal, white, and incredibly boring. I saw bandages and other supplies lining the walls. There were two doors in front of us that were open, showing a burning house and firetrucks. I looked back at Five, realizing he was talking to me.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," He kept apologizing. I was confused and lightheaded. The last thing I remembered was...oh my god. My parents. I turned and looked at the other people. I now noticed their uniforms were the ones for EMTs. I was in an ambulance. "My parents, where are they?" I asked, coughing mid sentence. They gave each other a sad look, as if saying, "Who's gonna tell her?" I shook my head in denial. My coughing continued. The smoke from the explosion was ridiculous. One of the EMTs put an oxygen mask over my mouth and nose to help me breathe. I looked back over at Five. He gave me a sad look as well.

That's when the tears came flooding down. I was choking out sobs, my vision was blurry. Five wrapped an arm underneath my neck and pulled me into his embrace, trying to comfort me. I heard him ask the EMTs something, then wrote something down hastily onto a slip of paper. He took the oxygen mask off me, giving it back to them. He put his other arm underneath my knees and held me close, before jumping us to the entryway of the academy. "Put me down, put me down," I choked out. He hesitated before setting my feet back on the ground, keeping an arm close to my waist in case I collapsed. Which is a good thing, because I did. He caught me and slowly lowered us to the ground, with both of his arms around me and his chin on top of my head. I buried my face into his chest, trying to muffle my cries.

After a while, when my sobbing had stopped and I was pretty much just sitting there in silent shock, I heard heels clicking towards us. "Is she alright?" I recognized Grace's voice. Five whispered something I couldn't hear, which is funny since I was literally on him. The heels clicked away. I looked at my hands and legs, which were covered in dust. There were a few scrapes here and there. Five sat there with me, cradling me in his arms. I never would've seen Five as the caring type, but he was doing a pretty damn good job at it. He pulled back a bit and looked at me. "How about you go take a shower, and I'll help my mom make dinner?" He asked. I nodded and he pressed a quick kiss to the top of my head before helping me up.

He waited until I got to the top of the stairs before he went into the kitchen to talk with Grace. I went to Allison's room and opened her closet to get a clean uniform. She only stays here on Friday and Saturday nights, so I wasn't worried about her being in her room when I walked in. I decided to just grab three extra uniforms to keep in Five's closet, since I don't know when I'll be able to get new clothes. After I put the extra uniforms in his closet, I went to the bathroom and started the water. Making sure the door was locked, since Klaus and Luther (and technically Ben) still lived here on a regular basis, I stripped off the dusty clothes and got in the shower.

I practically scrubbed my skin and scalp raw, then just stood there under the steaming water for a few minutes. I took in a shaky breath and stopped the water. I dried off with one of the towels under the sink and ran my fingers through my wet hair, making it as presentable as possible. I gave up and just tied it into a high ponytail with the black scrunchie I had also borrowed from Allison. I took my time getting dressed, trying to look like I wasn't sobbing my eyes out not even an hour earlier. I cringed at the thought of how pathetic I must have looked to Five. Shaking my head at the thoughts, I slipped on my shoes and straightened my skirt. Before I walked out of the bathroom, I did a double check in the mirror.
