1. Ranged weapons
Everybody says guns would do good, but noise attracts zombies an you can easily run out of ammo. Silencers increase noise (😳), and bullets are hard to get. But you can take refuge in an abandoned gun factory (if there is one by your place and if you can still find loot there and also if the place isn't over run by zombies) so that you can easily get stuff. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use guns, I just prefer not to use them; a gun IS better than no weapon at all. It's best to use a silent ranged weapon which can't run out of ammunition easily. Slingshots might be good because you can just grab something and just load and shoot it. But maybe you can just nab something and chuck at the zombies. Use your head; aim for theirs.
2. Melee weapons
It's best to have a weapon with a long range, like a spear (but right now we just have tape knives to mops 😀), or one which can fight multiple enemies at ones Shorter weapons won't be so good, and are better as a last resort. Chainsaws may get jammed with zombie guts, and, as mentioned earlier, noise attracts zombies, chainsaws are very noisy. Vehicles can also be used to hit them over their heads. Crowbars and axes and other stuff would double as tools and weapons. Umbrellas would also be fine, except if you use it as a weapon, you can only use it as a weapon. If you use it to block the rain when there's zombie blood all over it, that's won't be good. Blood will pour down and that isn't good (though why it isn't good, I forgot why exactly, but don't touch it anyway. I'm just sure it isn't good). If you don't have any of those, just grab something (that is not another zombie or your friend) and smack it on them.
