4. Vehicles and customizations
Vehicles can be real good help when getting away. Not only can you run the zombies over, but you might be able to sleep in it! I prefer vans or RVs or a truck or you simply just an attached trailer to a car (all those which I do not have😓) because they're roomy and you can sleep in it. Motorcycles are bad, since 1.Motor gets jammed with zombie guts, 2.Zombies can bite you easily. Open-air cars won't do good either, particularly because there's nothing worse than a zombie jumping into your car and having a zombie as your seat mate in a two-seater. Be sure to bring those bottles of gas, though, or else your just stranded, stranded, stranded,...with only "Br41nzzZ" sounds for entertainment. As for customization, try adding stuff to your car like sharp, pointy sticks, rapid-firing guns (how you would fire them while inside, I do not know.), terrifying paint jobs that make zombies scream for their (dead) mothers (if it would work, I do not know), sleeping compartments, food stores, etc.
5. Navigation
Holy crap! The zombies are coming! I gotta get outta here! Oh, wait, I just got my self in a dead end. Well, I guess I'm dead. Seriously dude, know where you're going. What will happen if you're trying to escape just to get surrounded? I don't know, it never happened to me before...but it probably will when the zombies come. Stick a map somewhere! Get a GPS device! Get a- wait, with a boat or helicopter or some other random vehicles, this part will have no use. Crap. But if you can't get any of those things, this part will, uh, give you an excuse to tape a map to your face. Oh, wait. Bad idea. Shoot. Anyway, as mentioned earlier, go to a strategic location with not much population.
6. Environment
If you're in a boat, don't stay in the shallow water. If you're in a forest, it's only HARD for the zombies to get to you, but not IMPOSSIBLE. It would be advisable to stay on the move wherever you are (unless you're in a safe place the zombies can't get to, where you might die die of thirst and hunger). Deserts and plains and other flat lands would be a place where you need to keep moving. Places with not much or none at all population would be very good (did I mention that already?). If you're in a building, go to the top floor and disable the stairs (by barricades, blocking it up, and by burning. Oh wait bad idea.) and stay up there where there are toilets and other stuff. Safe places would include: boats and submarines in deep water, small unpopulated islands in deep water, places where zombies can't reach you. Also remember to find a fresh water source and a place where you can get food.
