I know this old trick usually works, but reducing your number would make each one of you vulnerable. The only advantage zombies have are their number. Splitting up would just leave you with less defense, and you can easily be surrounded.
2.group limit
You might think that having more people in the group can help, but then you'll be just WRONG. you can easily run out of weapons, leaving weak links in your group. Also it may be harder to get a whole group of people in a compact car.Running out of food needs no explaining.
3.pack survival essentials
You are trying to survive, so why not? If you're thinking something like "we are surviving the zombie apocalypse not going camping", then you're dead. Imagine finally finding a good hiding spot, then realize you have no food, water, or anything else, and just starve to death. Canned goods are preferable because they can last almost forever. Also remember to get healthy foods to stay fit to start running, remember, you are faster than zombies. Well, most of the time, anyway.
