~Two Days Later~
River couldn't find Bell anywhere, she checked every corridor of the Tardis. It was like her to lock herself in somewhere, or hide and avoid everyone, but this was different. There was no trace of her this time.
"Dear if you're looking for Annabel, she's gone." The Tardis whooshed at River
"What do you mean she's gone?" River asked confused
"It's not my place to say, but you should ask The Doctor." The Tardis responded with a beep
"Damn it. What did my husband—I mean wife do this time?" She mumbled under her breathe
River walked with precision and determination in her step. She had to find out what happened. When she finally got to the control room, the anger that she built up was let out.
"Doctor what did you do? Where's my god damn wife?!" River was quite pissed
"I made the same mistake as last time. I—I cheated. She found me kissing Yaz." The Doctor hung her head in shame
"You idiot! Listen Doctor, you and I. We have an agreement, but you and our Bell, didn't make one. Bell's never been in an open-relationship. Unlike me, she has a jealous streak, and you know that. Most likely cause from what you did to her on Gallifray all those years ago. You know what you did last time, what she did after. I won't let her do that, but thanks to you she's AWOL, and could be gone forever for all we know." River sighed and walked closer to The Doctor, "Sweetie, you know she's not like us. She's not as strong. She's weak. That's why it's our job to protect her from herself. I'm her wife, and I will go to the ends of the universe to love her, keep her safe. Now you got to ask yourself, are you ready Doctor? Are you ready to be what she needs, and leave the rest behind?"
The Doctor took in what River said, she always had a way with words, and she was usually right. The Doctor found clarity, she was tired of running. Her face hardened as she said, "I have to. I need to. For her, for our love, but.......umm, just give me five minutes, and I'll be ready."
The Doctor took the ring out of the box, got some tools and went to go make it better. She'd make herself one, one with an onyx stone, just like the one The Bell originally proposed to her with back on Gallifray.
To her word, The Doctor was back in five minutes, "Alright, did you track her?"
River's face was nervous, "Yeah, Umm it seems she already saved me. She's, umm."
"Spit it out River. I know that face, where is she, is she in trouble?" The Doctor's eyes grew
"She's on Gallifray...at the temple." River said cautiously
"She's at the temple? No, she wouldn't...oh Rassilon, did I mess up that bad?" The Doctor asked
"It seems so." River mumbled
"I pushed her right into The Master's arms. I'm so stupid. This is all my fault." The Doctor said with regret laced in her tone
"You'll make it up to her. You always do. Just please, show her, show her you mean it this time. If you hurt her again Doctor, well, I'm going to leave with her." River warmed The Doctor
The Doctor nodded, "I understand. I'll do if right this time. I promise. I just-I hope she's alright. I hope we're not too late."
"Well, for both of our sakes, I need that to be true." River replied with a wistful face
"Wait! I have a brilliant idea! We need to pick someone up first! She can help us handle The Master. The Master's wife, well technically Missy's ex-wife, also my ex-girlfriend from my last regeneration, Dr. Lilith T. Hunt. However, she might be pissed at me." The Doctor finished that awkwardly
"Oh I know Lil! Annabel, her, and I all went to Luna University together. We were inseparable us three back in the day. Wait? You broke up with her?" was all River had to say
"Well, more like I abandoned her on an exploding cybermen infested ship with her dead wife." The Doctor said quickly
"You arse. Let's just go get her, and save our wife." River said quite annoyed
The two Timelord's pulled the lever headed towards a journey to save the one they loved.
