Quick A/N- you'll probably love me or hate me by the end of this chapter. Probably both!
*Before the boys and girls went to their separate rooms, Aman had suggested that everyone go to bed early. "If we get a full night's sleep we'll be able to perform better tomorrow. We'll easily win then."
Kabir had pur his hand on his shoulder and said confidently, "don't worry. We will win."
Everyone cheered and went their ways and Alia gushed excitedly, "I'm so excited for tomorrow!"
She looked expectantly at Meera who was equally elated, "yeah, me too! I can't wait."
Everyone had gone to bed but they still chatted after the lights were switched off.
"I wish we actually went to a boarding school like this. Sleeping every night next to your bestfriend would've been so cool."
"I know!" Meera yawned, "it's beautiful here."
"Are you sleepy?"
Meera pulled her blanket up till her chin and nodded. "Yeah."
"Goodnight then."
"Goodnight." Meera smiled and turned to her side closing her eyes.
She remembered she had read Romeo and Juliet in her english lessons. Her teacher had told her that Juliet was just fourteen in age when she fell in love with Romeo. At that time, Meera had laughed. Love at fourteen? What a joke.
But now almost two years older than what Juliet was at that time, she understood with all her heart what Juliet was feeling. She understood damn well now what love was and knew in her heart that what she was feeling was indeed love and not some crush or puppy love anymore.
She felt like she was Juliet's reincarnate or something, because now Meera could damn well understand what Juliet had to go through when she had to hide from her family and secretly meet Romeo. Because that was the exact same thing she had to do now.
Sigh. If only things were easier.
She covered her head with the blanket and checked the watch on her watch. The watch was a latest one, which had a button you pressed for the tiny light on the watch to come to light.
11.50 pm. the watch had said.
Only ten minutes more, she thought. But she couldn't wait anymore. The curiosity of what Kabir had planned for her was absolutely killing her.
She leaned on her elbow and looked through the dark carefully at the sleeping figures. For a few seconds she was silent, trying to hear if anyone was still up and talking.
When she realised that everyone was deep in sleep, she slowly wore her rubber slippers and crept out of the room taking extra caution in not making any noise.
At the door she turned around once more to check if she had been caught, and got out quickly.
Woah, she breathed. I feel like I've been doing this for years. Sneaking out and all that.
