Armani's thoughts
~

It was a Saturday morning and the sun rays peaked through my thin curtains.

I groaned softly as I got up from my laid position; now sitting up.
I huffed when I felt a single braid, cling against my cheek. I quickly pushed it back into my bonnet before stretching.

My feet hit the cold soft wooden floor causing me to breathe out.

Ignoring the cool temperature floor boards, I walk towards my room door, rolling it open then walking out.

The sounds of giggling and the pitter patter of excited feet flowed into my ears from downstairs then ended once I heard the front door closing.

I continued walking the carpeted halls then jogged downstairs as the smell of eggs and bacon swift into my nostrils.

"That smells so good"

I say walking into the living room, seeing my mother preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

She had her usual; brown shoulder length hair which she tied in a messy morning bun.

She dressed in an oversized black tee; faded in colour and some yoga tights, ending her morning fit with cosy looking uggs that looked twice her size. They probably belonged to my dad, because my mother had a tendency to wear his slides or uggs, I mean me too when I couldn't find mine.

My mother is so much like me sometimes.

I walked up to the kitchen and got seated by the kitchen table.

"Morning baby, How'd you sleep?"

My mother asked cheerfully, exposing a bright toothy grin my direction.
I always admired her smile, it's a beautiful one.

"I slept pretty good, I thought I heard Kayla around"

Kayla being my youngest and only sister.

I watched as my mother placed a plate filled with breakfast in front of me.
She proceeded to place a glass with red-ish liquid inside it.

Cherry soda. My favourite.

"Awh yeah, ya' dad just took her to her friend's birthday party"

She said, getting seated on the seat across from mine.

I dug my fork into the sunny side eggs, putting it into my mouth before nodding.

"Melissa or Kendra?"

I ask, taking a sip of the Cherry soda afterwards.

My sister always told me about her friends.
Apparently Kendra tried to steal Cameron from Stacy..
I know right, tea.

"Mariah, she's turning 13"

My mother announced while digging her fork into her bacon and taking a bite.

"Oh alright. Oh and Uhm, I might be going somewhere later for a study session; depending on whether or not the loser will ditch me"

I say nonchalantly while taking a bite of my bacon.

My mother chuckled lightly while chewing before taking a sip of her drink.

"What loser is that?"

She asks as a sigh leaves my lips.

"Some guy at my school, I don't enjoy his presence but he asked for my help with math so..I agreed"

Out of shear pity, and money.
