Mr cliche has
Got some competition..
....Armani's thoughts
~•~"Yo, you sure that's your friend?..I think he likes you"
Lamar piped up when we got comfortable in his vehicle. I formed a tight grin, I prayed internally that he wouldn't bring it up..but to my dismay; he did. Quickly at that.
"Why? You jealous?"
I managed to add some light poking into the topic, to lessen the intensity of it. He noticed this and tossed me a chuckle, sliding down his seatbelt then starting the ignition.
"Should I be?"
He rose a brow before driving off the school premises and into the neighborhood road.
"Nah"
"Then I'm not"
He shrugged before, focusing his gaze on the road. I looked around the car. It was kinda cosy and simple.
"Why don't you go 'head and play sumn, tryna get a sneak peek of your music taste"
Lamar spoke up, filling the brief yet comfortable silence. I felt my cheeks heat up. I ain't shy, but when it comes to my music taste, that's where I'm hesitant.
"Oh Nah, I feel like you won't like my shit"
He playfully rolled;
"Psh, I know you lyin'. Come on, play sumn"
I swallowed slightly, digging for my phone then connecting it to his speakers.
Connected:
Mani's iPhone.Came into view, as I entered my apple music. I slid past my city girls playlist, then settled on my aesthetic feels playlist. I placed my phone on my thigh as a song began to swarm our space.
Beretta by mereba
Began. I chose to keep my gaze forward as the tune continued. I held back a nervous grin when I saw him look at me briefly from my peripheral.
"This you?"
I couldn't help but giggle, shaking my head at his goofy ass. I looked his direction, watching him bob slightly with the tune.
"Yeah, I love mereba"
He nodded, exposing his dimples before looking my direction once more then back at the road.
"Shyt, I think I like her too. She's kinda cold foreal"
I still had my gaze on him. Mainly admiring how good he looked driving.
"Where are you taking me?"
I questioned, adjusting myself to press my side against the passenger. He licked his lips, turning on a not so familiar road.
"Can't it be a surprise, hm Mani?"
I felt intoxicated by the velvet texture of his voice. So smooth in my ears, I listened to him more intently than I did to any song I've ever listened to.
