"Greetings everyone," Tony remarked on entering the helicarrier.

Steve and Bruce nodded their greetings.

"Welcome to the helicarrier," Natasha said, smiling in her usual conservative way.

"Welcome back, more like," Loki murmured but smiled her way nonetheless.

"So you have a problem with a big blue cube, is that right?" Tony asked brashly.

Steve reacted as if he'd just been stung by a bee and was trying to hide his pain.

"Stop hacking S.H.I.E.L.D files, Stark," Fury growled, appearing on the flight deck.

"I will when you start making them un-hackable," Tony smirked.

A few technicians winced. One kept resolutely playing a game which Tony informed Loki was called Galaga.

"Anyway, what can we help you with?"

"You're the genius, Tony, figure it out yourself," Rhodey grumbled.

"Someone had a late night," Tony sniped back.

"Hush, children," Loki reprimanded, smirking when this gained the glares of both men. "Let us wait for what Director Fury has to say."

Fury, reddening, promptly explained.

"S.H.I.E.L.D is in possession of an artefact called the Tesseract. It is presumed that this artefact is centuries old, if not more and it produces energy."

Fury stopped.

"That's the simple explanation and all people without PhDs should probably stop at this point."

Steve looked relieved but also worried.

"You should've left the Tesseract in the ocean," he insisted. "That isn't for mortal men."

"I agree with Steve," Loki said. "The Tesseract was brought to Earth by Odin."

He received a lot of confused looks.

"Odin, the Norse god, father of Thor. After being left on the planet, the Tesseract ended up in the safekeeping of Norse worshippers in Tønsberg. The Tesseract became the subject of many legends of Norse mythology."

"How do you know this?" Asked Fury.

Loki shrugged.

"My dissertation was on Norse mythology."

"But nobody knew that the Tesseract was kept in Tønsberg," Hill pointed out.

"I like history," Loki shrugged again.

"Where even is Tønsberg?" Steve questioned.

"Glad I'm not the only one," Clint muttered.

"Norway," Loki replied sarcastically. "Where the worshippers of Norse gods spent fruitless years in awe of Odin."

"You don't sound too convinced yourself," Steve said.

"If you studied the mythology you would understand," Loki said quietly. "By all accounts, Odin was a cruel man. The folklore shows nothing to be in awe of."

Later, released from the conversation about the Tesseract, Loki wandered the helicarrier. As he was meandering, he bumped into Natasha and Bruce.

"Hi," Bruce said politely.

"Bruce and I were just talking about you," Natasha said, straight to the point. "About your accident... The car accident."
