Expect the Unexpected

" I like your friend... " He said and I looked at him with wide eyes.

Well, okay....I didn't expect that.

"Oh, who is it?"

I feel bad for him, Gen and Izzy have people who they are interested in and Ryan doesn't really have a chance.

" It's Mark Graham"

"Wait, that means you're-"

"Gay. Yeah, I'm Gay and I really like Mark. I was hoping that you would introduce me to him." He asked me with hopeful eyes.

"Ryan, I don't know if he is gay too, I mean he has had flings before and all of them with girls..." I trailed off looking at him unsurely.

I didn't want to build his expectations. What if mark isn't gay, or even if he is, what if he doesn't like Ryan back?

"Alexis, you've got to help me, I feel that he is the one for me. I just forget the entire world when I see him" Ryan said with a dreamy expression. " Will you help me?"

I'm such a hopeless romantic, of course I'll help him!

"Sure, I will..why don't you join us at lunch and that way we can get you guys introduced?" I asked him. I really hope my friends don't mind..

"I'd love that, Lexi I owe you, you are the best, thank you!" He exclaimed pulling me into a hug.

I laugh and hug him back. This better work or I'd be so embarrassed.

The next day

I casually leaned on my locker while Carter held Gen to his side and Izzy is participating in a math championship.

I was currently third wheeling and I hated every minute. Carter was whispering things which made Gen blush and I shuddered at the thought of what it could be.

"Hey"

I turned around to see Xavier.

"Finally someone! What's up?" I asked cheerfully.

He chuckled and held something out for me. I took it and it was gift wrapped.

"What's this?" I asked

"Gift, for you. Open it only when you reach home." He said smiling.

"But why a gift?" I asked

"I was in the mall with my mom, and I liked it and I thought it would look good on you, so I bought it" he said.

I hugged him and mumbled a thank you.

"Hey, Lexi!" I broke away from the hug to see Ryan.

"Ryan, hello!"I exclaimed pulling him for a hug.

Gen and Carter looked confused while Xavier's face turned to steely cold.

"Guys, this is Ryan and he will be sitting with us from lunch today" I said looking at my friends.

They gave a small smile to Ryan and nodded at me unsurely.

"Okay, then I've gotta go to class, bye lexi, later guys!" Ryan said and walked away.

Gen and Carter waved a goodbye and left as well. I took the books from my locker and walked towards math.

"He's the one you went out with? You like him?" Xavier asked.

I burst out laughing, he thinks I like Ryan? Gosh! That's funny..

He has no clue Ryan is gay or that he likes one of his best friends.
