After class, Luna and I went downstairs for our costume fitting. First I tried on a vibrant purple, silk dress. The camisole straps fell into a round neckline. The fabric hugged my figure until it flared slightly into a movable skirt that reached my mid calf.
I let Mrs. DeMette approve it before going upstairs to show my mom.
"It looks good. Can you get it off easy?"
"Yes."
"Good, because I checked the music and you only have fifteen seconds to get out of this and into the pregnancy dress."
"That's going to be hectic," I said before going back downstairs to change into my pregnancy costume.
When I got down there, Luna was dressed in a three quarter sleeve dress that hugged her figure and came to her knees and was the same color of purple as mine.
"It looks so pretty!" I complimented her.
"Thanks! I love yours though. It's sad it's only for one scene."
"Yeah," I sighed and she went to show my mom.
Mrs. DeMette then handed me the pregnancy costume. It was off the shoulder but had clear straps to hold it up. The sleeves were three quarter and a purple mesh overlay covered the dress. When I changed, we tested how fast it would go. Luckily, the first dress I could just pull down and then the next one I just had pull up and zip up. Once I was dressed, Mrs. DeMette clipped on the green necklace that I wore and then eventually Luna would wear it.
After Mrs. DeMette approved, I went to get my mothers approval. As I made my way up the stairs, I realized how a pregnant woman must feel. The stomach was heavy and was already making my back hurt. Finally, I made it up the stairs and into the studio.
"Were you able to change into it quickly?"
"Yeah."
"Can you turn in it?"
I tried a couple of pirouettes and it did take my weight forward, but I would just have to learn how to bring my weight back to even it out.
"We're definitely going to have to have some rehearsals just for you to get used to it. You're also going to need to learn how to act like you're actually pregnant. For example when you sit down and get up, and also how you would stand. But you also have to do it like a ballerina," she finished.
"Oh this is going to be fun," I sighed as everyone came from the lounge.
"So who's the baby daddy, Marilyn?" Sophie joked.
"Haha, very funny," I said in a sarcastic tone. Before going back downstairs to change back into my leotard and skirt. Once I was done, I took my pregnancy costume back upstairs incase we needed it for rehearsal.
When I got back into the studio, my mother had begun working with Everly, Cassie, McKenna, Emma, Kenzie, Madison, Bentley, and Micah. They were just finishing the part where Everly and Emma crown Bentley and Micah.
I went and sat down beside Skylar. "Hey, dude," I ruffled his hair.
"Hi, Marilyn," he said in a soft voice.
"Are you excited to be playing Mamillius?"
"Yes," he squealed. "It's going to be so fun doing a show that isn't Nutcracker. The only thing I'm scared about is having to do the dying scene. I hope I can do the acting."
