Can I trust you?

[Hey any of you who are still here lol, its been a year.....yikes!!! but here is is another chapter to this seemingly never ending story!! hope you enjoy!!] 

KAI'S POV: 

she knows, she knows, she knows!! that is the only through whirring around my head at the moment, I am getting married tomorrow, or so I hope. 

look I'm not going back to my bandit ways, not at all! I just..just. there really is no way to explain  it. I love being an air bender and part of Jinoras family but, I miss the thrill of the fight, the constant running away from the police, hiding in the shadows. so when I was approached with the deal of taking out the power of course I was up for it, I feel so guilty, I lied to jin, the person who mean more to me that any money in the world. but this had to be done. 

************ time skip*************

I reach the entrance of the house, a ball of anxiety rises my stomach, Tenzin is undoubtably going to kill me, he won't let me marry Jinora now. I silently enter the house, there is a dim light coming from the main living room, I creep past and have almost made to my room when. "back late aren't we?" all the hairs raise on the back of my neck. I turn around. 

"Jin love" she raises her hand making me instantly shut up. 

"Don't Jin me, you are going to explain to me word for word what you were doing in town today with your crew of bandits." she explains. "follow me" she instructs I do as she says. one argument this evening is enough. 

I follow her into our room she checks the corridor when we are both in closing the door. I sheepishly sit on the bed. "right start talking" she instructs her stare cold like her fathers, I glup. 

"Jinora you have to believe me when I say I'm not going to go back to my bandit way, but truth be told I miss the thrill." her glares is even more intense. she says nothing. "is is he hurt, we never mean to hurt him.."

"did you lead them?" she abruptly asks, crossing her arms. 

"no no not at all they offer me money to do this, to startle the Emperor" I explain. "I swear it was a one time job." I stare into her eyes, she has been crying, that tears me apart. "h-have you been crying?"  I ask getting up to go over to her she glares and walks across the room looking out the small widow. 

"you still lied to me, you promised me when we started your air bender training, you promised you wont go back." she says not looking at me. I sigh walking over to her, gently taking her hand, she accepts, I look down at her, her eyes glistening with tears. "hey look at me, I love you , we can't let this moment define my love for you, heck we are gutting married tomorrow" I smile. she doesn't, she remains looking at my hands. 

"can I trust you...after today?" she asks finally looking into my eyes. on thing about Jinora, she has a hard time staying mad at people she loves, but she will still kick your butt. I put my hadn't on her cheek wiping away a tear "yes, of course, I solemnly swear that if I am up to no good I will tell you next time." I say my signature smirk across my face. 

she looks me on the eyes "you have made bigger mistakes, and I have forgiven you for them, besides its not me you have to worry about." she says spewing away from me, going to walk out the door, "its my farther, yes he knows" she says. 

"Jin wait" I say grabbing her hand. 

"what is it?" her eyes are still harsh. I say nothing just pull her into a kiss, she doesn't hesitate, she melts into my kiss, wrapping her arms around my neck. we break apart. 

"so.." I whisper "am I forgiven or is it too soon to say?, I love you Jin" she steps way from me, but a slight smile on her face. " as I said its not me you have to worry about." she states. as if on cue Tenzins' booming voice echos down the corridor. "KAI, YOU BANDIT ARE YOU HERE?!" I gulp. I give Jinora a panicked look, she looks about as panicked as me. oh gods! 

"the widow!" Jinora says pointing to the small open window, we rush over and open it up. "please I am marrying you tomorrow, I don't need to run from your farther." I argue. as soon as I say theta the door slides open, Tenzin and about  four of the palace guards are at the door. 

"there he is officers, the man who conspired again the emperor.!" Tenzin says. 

"farther no!" Jinora exclaims running to block her farthers path. "Jinora please, move aside" he says looking down at her, there are tears streaming down her cheeks. "he will get what he deserves " Tenzin snarls. 

two of the guards advance into the room, Tenzin holding back Jinnora, they take me by my arms. "please I did nothing to harm the Emperor! you have to believe me." 

"sir please,  put up no fight the Emperor will decide your fate." they say dragging me out.

"Kai nooo" Jinora screams, I take my way out of the guards, rushing over and placing one last kiss on her lips, her tears making her lips salty. "I love you" I say as I am dragged away. I'm thrown into the back of a car, its dark, the only light coming through from the small bars in the back I go up to them, watching my only hope at a future with Jinora, slowly slip away.
