Chapter 24

Today was the day that Armani was going to come home. It was 5:00am and August and I were in the hospital room playing with her. "Did you hear her say da-da yesterday?" I asked sitting on the hospital bed with Mani. He smiled."Yeah! She was watching my video on the tv and just blurted it out and started clapping." I smiled. This is how I imagined our lives would be. Not it this hospital room but just, me and Armani but things didn't work out.

"So what time did they say you can take her home?" August asked. "Around 1:00." He nodded his head and pulled out his phone. I sat there letting Mani tease on the necklace I was wearing. I began hearing a vibration from my purse. I leaned over and looked inside and seen Los Angeles school of performing arts calling me. "Can you hold her? I need to take this." I got off of the bed and handed her to her dad before stepping out into the hallway.

Eva: Hello?
??:: May I speak with Eva Lozada.
Eva: This is she.
??:: Good Morning Ms.Lozada. This is Katherine Taylor calling from Los Angeles School of Performing Arts.
Eva:: Hi Katherine, How may I help you?
Katherine:: I know that you weren't scheduled to work till Monday but the teacher who you were replacing can't come in. I was wondering if you were available to start to day. We are offering you time and a half for the hours you work today.
Eva:: Uh. I don't see why I couldn't. Let me call you right back.
Katherine:: Okay. and I'm sorry for the inconvenience and short notice.
Eva: No it's fine.

I hung up the phone and stepped back into the room. "Hey can I ask you for s favor?" I asked sitting into the chair. "What's up?" "My job called and was wondering if I could work today. Can you get Mani home to my house and stay there till I get home please?" I asked. "I don't mind."

I stood up and hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much." I grabbed my purse before kissing Armani and rushed out the room. I needed to get home and shower and change before 7:00.

"Hi girls, I'm your new teacher, You can call me Ms.Lozada or Ms.Marie." I said as the girls were stretching. "I'm kinda new to this, Well I was captain of my varsity dance team but I never taught young girls." I was nervous and needed to make conversation.
"So can someone tell me what kind of dance your other teacher taught?"
A biracial girl raced her hand. "She taught us mostly lyrical and jazz but I'm more of a hip hop dancer. " I nodded my head as the girls went around and told me what they liked. It shocked me how diffferent each girl was and how the teacher never let them express it. "Okay now stand up."

I walked in my house and it was quiet. I walked further in into my living room and seen August sleeping on my coach. "August." I said waking him. "Oh my bad ma." He said in a sleepy voice as he sat. "Where's Mani?" "She in her her room sleeping." I nodded my head.

"Uh the doctor said bring her back in two weeks for a check up." He said standing up. "I'm about to go so just call me if you need anything."

"Wait. Can you keep a eye out on her while I take a shower?" I asked. He nodded and sat down, grabbing my remote off the side table. I went into my room closing the door behind me. I walked into the bathroom and placed my hair into the high bun.

I walked out my room in shorts and and a tank top. "Thanks." I said as I picked some of the toys London and Armani left in the hall way. "You good." He said focusing his attention on the t.v. He was watching his favorite movie Hustle & Flow. "I guess im stuck with you for at least another 45 minutes." I joked sitting on the couch. He laughed "You know I can't go until its over."

"Are you hungry?"

"Always." He answered causing me to chuckle. I stood up and went into the kitchen and found something to cook.
