Your P.O.V

I'm in the middle of making some cookies (I decided that you will be a vegetarian who eats chicken, because it's annoying to always remember that the food in this book is supposed to be vegan), when I hear Mom yelling,

"Y/n! Someone left a voicemail for you!" I can't believe someone called me.

"Okay, I'm coming!" I run to the living room to get the phone. I put the phone up to my ear, and press the voicemail button.

"Hey Y/n, this is Addison. I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to watch The Phantom of the Opera with me on the 30th, because they're performing it at the Lakeside Theatre. I have transportation. Call me back at xxx-xxx-xxxx with an answer."

This would be my first time seeing a musical live! "Mooommm!"

"Yes Y/n!"

"Can I go to see Phantom of the Opera with a friend from school on the 30th."

"If they have transportation for you!"

"Thanks!" I do a little celebratory dance, because I've always wanted to see a live musical. Since I can't go over to Mike's right now, I just call him. "Mike! Guess what!"

"What?"

"I'm going to see The Phantom of the Opera!"

"That's great! But how are you getting there?" He seems happy for me.

"A friend from school is taking me."

"Which friend?"

That's weird, why is he asking that? Whatever, it's no big deal. "Addison from drama."

"Oh, okay. Have fun!" I thought I heard a sigh, but it was probably my imagination.

"Love you Mike, bye!" (You say love you with your friends and when friends joke and say "I hate you" to you)

"Bye!"

I hang up, and go tell Beverly the news. I run so fast, I hit the corner of the cabinets with my thigh. "Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!" I grab my thigh because it hurts, and hop over to the door. By the time I open the door, it's stopped hurting.

I knock on the Beverly's door and she answers almost immediately.

"What's up?"

"I just got asked to see The Phantom of the Opera with Addison!" It seems like Beverly's face drops for a second, but the she smiles super wide.

"I'm so happy for you! This your first time seeing a musical live!"

"I know!"

She gives me a big hug to congratulate me. I hug her back, then leave to go call Addison back with my answer.

Beverly's P.O.V.

I give Y/n a hug, then she leaves, probably to call Addison. I don't know why I feel disappointed, I don't like Addison. I go to my room and turn on my radio. Since I'm sad-ish, and the song sounds sad, I decide to listen to the lyrics.

Oh how wrong can you be?
Oh to fall in love
Was my very first mistake
How was I to know
I was far too much in love to see?
Oh jealousy look at me now
Jealousy you got me somehow

I recognize this song. I think it's Jealousy by Queen. I thought it came out in '78? Why is it on the radio now?

You gave me no warning
Took me by surprise
Jealousy you led me on
You couldn't lose you couldn't fail
You had suspicion on my trail
How how how all my jealousy
I wasn't man enough to let you hurt my pride
Now I'm only left with my own jealousy
