Brief mentions of ab*se. Also, I know the chapter title sounds weird, but I promise it will make sense when you read the chapter.
Your P.O.V
Addison is waiting for me outside. We're going on a date. He won't tell me where, because 'It's a surprise'. Here's the thing, the way he said that sounded just a little weird, so it's not making me feel excited about it. Also, he said he was going to blindfold me or something, and I don't like it when I can't see things.
I check the time again and see that I took way longer than I said I would, to get ready. Grabbing my stuff, I scramble to meet up with Addison. He is waiting for me and isn't mad about me being late. Ezekiel would always get mad, even if I was just one minute late. He would hurt me, in ways I don't want to describe.
"Hey, you're spacing out again." Addison shakes my shoulder gently to snap me out of whatever 'trance' I was in.
I shake my head a little bit and smile. "Sorry, just thinking."
He starts to put the blindfold on me. I tense up a little, but then I relax when I realize that something bad isn't about to happen. "You seem to do that quite a bit don't you?"
I tap my chin with a confused look on my face, as confused as you can look when you have a blindfold on. "I guess that's what you get," Then I give him a sly smirk. "when you choose one of the smartest girls in school to be your girlfriend."
"Guess so, huh?" He grabs my hand and starts leading me to wherever our date is.
You know, it's kind of strange but most people don't react weirdly when other people blindfold them. Then again, it's usually for something kinky, or it's their birthday, and they're having a surprise party, and, I guess, surprise dates.
With my vision temporarily gone, I stumble my way around Derry, even with Addison guiding me. Wherever he's taking me, I can tell that it probably has something to do with food. The smell is like when you come home and you can smell the home-cooked meal from outside your apartment.
He finally says I can take off the blindfold, and there's a picnic blanket. (I almost wrote picnic cloth for some reason) There is also a picnic basket that has some of my favorite foods, with two pieces of paper sticking out from underneath the basket. Addison doesn't mention what they are for, so I ignore them for now.
"I hope what you have planned for today doesn't take too long, I'm meeting up with a friend later today." I know that might sound a little rude, but Richie said he has something urgent to tell me. "And next time, I'll plan the date." I wink at him and sit down.
I feel bad that Addison has put so much time, effort, and money into some of the dates he's taken me on, so I want to do something in return. I guess it's because I hate feeling like I owe people things.
Addison hasn't eaten anything yet. That makes me start wondering. "So, how do you like the food? I asked your friends about what you liked to eat and had my mom make it with me."
Doesn't his mom hate me? I did yell at her because she accused me and Beverly of being a slut. And that's really thoughtful, he asked about the foods I liked. Damn, I really thought I couldn't lo-like someone the way I like Beverly. After all, my crush on her is probably just that, a crush, which is something I can get over.
I shove all thoughts other than that this date is super sweet, and thoughtful, out of my head. We don't need anything to interrupt the date due to my thoughts. "It's really good. Thank you for taking so much time in doing this for me, you really didn't have to."
