In the late 50s, the Norwegian-Swedish girls were growing up, and most girls their age would start to get interested in cute boys, but for them, it wasn't so. In fact, they started feeling new feelings for each other. Initially, they thought they loved each other like sisters, but this was definitely not sisterly love.

One time, Agnetha was helping Anni-Frid dress for the formal dinner, and she couldn't help but stare at her beautiful breasts. Anni-Frid also enjoyed Agnetha's gentle touch as she helped her dress.

But they knew, they knew immediately what these feelings were. Their family members explained it to them when they were younger, and, being film lovers, they were admirers of Dorothy Arzner, a woman Hollywood film director who never hid who she was, and the girls knew of her relationship with Marion Morgan. Plus, Sweden was a highly progressive country, way ahead of it's time, despite it being the 1950s.

But they knew what they felt for each other, and they weren't going to let anyone break them or get them down. No matter what, they were going to be together. They had no shame about it because such relations were legalized the year before they were born, hence as far as they were concerned, they were doing nothing wrong.

They girls shared their first kiss in the Summer of 1959, when the girls were on their annual holiday to their birthplace of Narvik, Norway. They kissed under the midnight sun, and said the beautiful words, "Jeg elsker deg" ("I love you" in Norwegian). They then went to bed together and cuddled up in the warm blankets, out of the cold Nordic air.
