*Hey guys, thanks to all those who read, but I would really appreciate more votes and comments so I can get this story more popular!*
Dawn leaned across and strapped Destiny in her car seat. She pulled the strap across Destiny's small chest and buckled the seat belt. Destiny was fast asleep, and her head was cocked to the side. Dawn had just taken her from the Johnson's Day Care Centre and she was in a rush to get back to the studio before 5:30. It was now 4:47 and she was tight on schedule. Dawn kissed Destiny on her soft face and closed the door to her Mercedes. Dawn hopped in the front seat, buckled her seatbelt, adjusted her rear-view mirror and backed out of the parking lot. She rolled down her driver's side window, stuck out her hand and called out, "Goodbye, Mrs. Johnson. I'll see you again tomorrow!"
"Okay, bye sweetie!" Mrs. Johnson, the lady who ran the Day Care that little 4-year-old Destiny went to responded. Dawn smiled and drove out of the lot.
Dawn let her elbow hang out the window as she drove in silence. She didn't want to wake Destiny up before they got to the studio with everyone else. Mrs. Johnson had told Dawn that Destiny was one of the first ones to go to sleep, and she had been sleep for about four hours. She was a short nap-taker, and Dawn knew that Destiny would be waking up in a few more minutes. The ride took about 45 minutes, and she knew that Diddy would be pissed if she was late. They were going to work on their 3rd album; after their 2nd album had successfully gone platinum as well as their first, Diddy was striving for more, and he was determined that they make it for a third time in a row.
Suddenly, just as Dawn turned her blinker on to make her first right, a car cut off in front of her sharply and blared its horn.
She quickly and abruptly turned the wheel and slammed on her brakes, watching in heated anger and the driver sped off.
"Stupid ass!" she mumbled to herself. She looked back over her shoulder to see if Destiny had been woken up due to the carelessness of the driver, but miraculously, she was still asleep.
Dawn turned back around to the front and looked at the time. It was now 5:03 and she about 35 minutes away from the studio.
"Damn, Diddy is gone kill me," she spoke aloud, shaking her head. She looked out at her rear-view mirror and started to drive again. What would Diddy saw when she pulled up late for the second day in a row?
When Dawn finally got back to the studio, she looked at the clock and she was 10 minutes late. She knew Diddy and the girls will be mad, but she hoped not to mad, after they see little Destiny with her. Dawn grabbed Destiny, who was now awake, from her car seat and headed inside.
"Dawn... late again I see" Diddy said, before Dawn fully entered the door.
"I'm sorry; we almost got ran off the road today." Dawn replied
Little Destiny ran up to Diddy and hugged his leg. Diddy had a soft spot for Destiny and his little girls D'lia and Jessie, who Destiny had many play dates with. Diddy picked up Destiny and threw her in the air.
"Destiny, are you trying to keep mommy out of trouble?" Diddy asked her.
Destiny started giggling as Diddy tickled her.
Dawn watched as Diddy held Destiny and promised her candy, toys, and all kinds of things he really had no intention of giving her. Destiny looked at Diddy with a silly grin and Dawn just laughed thinking about how her daughter could have such an affect on her "hard ass" of a boss.
Dawn looked up at the clock that was on the wall and said, "Okay Desi....mommy has to go in the studio again ...so tell Puff bye, bye."
Destiny looked at her Mom and then at Diddy and broke out in tears. "I no wanna go, Mama..." Destiny whined.
