The next day came, the day Lina and Joey had to talk to Anya about her moving out. She had the day off from any plans so it was the perfect time to tell her.

"Hey Anya honey?" Lina said as her best friend came down the stairs to grab her breakfast.

"Yeah? You look nice by the way."

"Oh don't even, nothing fits me anymore." She joked.

"You look beautiful sweetheart, I don't know what you're talking about." Joey chimed in.

"Thanks babe, ok now back to the point. Anya, sit down."

Anya sat on the couch eating a bagel, while Joey and Lina sat on the lounge chairs in front of her.

"So what is it?" Joey looked at Lina and nudged for her to begin.

"We think you should get a place of your own. We're gonna have a baby in three months and this place is only a two bedroom house. Do you really want to be living with us when we become parents?"

"Ok... But why can't you two get your own place?"

"Lina is in no position to move house while she's pregnant, and it would cost us more to find another two bedroom in a good area like this, than it would for you to get a small place of your own."

"Look sweetie, we'll help you get a good place, and if you get into Castleford arts then you can stay in student housing! It'll all work out."

"Yeah that makes sense... It'll just be hard leaving this place. I mean we bought this together Lina, wait... How soon do you want me to move out?" Lina looked at Lucas, wanting him to say the answer.

"In the next 2 months, to give us time to make this place ready for the baby."

"What!? I'll never find a place in that time are you kidding me? And the ceremony isn't for another three months so the student housing won't work..."

"Anya calm down, we're sure it'll be-"

"No Lina! Look I get that you're a family and all but you're kicking me out of my own house here!"

"Come on, please try to understand. None of this was planned but now it's here, we've got to be sensible."

"Oh please Joey. Where was all this sensibility when you got her knocked up?!"

"ANYA. Chill the hell out lady."

"Lina YOU chill out, you've completely changed since you got pregnant. You're not the same girl I knew. You used to get drunk and go to bars and I would be the one at home wanting to cook or draw. But now you're completely different. You probably should have gotten the abortion."

Joey and Lina's faces were filled with complete rage.

"Get the hell out Anya." Lina said in a low tone.

"Gladly."

She slammed the door and went out into the cold autumn morning, her breath swirled in front of her with every sharp inhale. Her eyes pricked with tears of confusion and regret.

She couldn't take it and just wanted the time to stop. Screw it.

The phone rang...

"Lucas, Can I come over?"

"Sure." He was alarmed by her tone but didn't want to say no to his friend, the girl he liked...

She approached his door and when he opened she stood there for a second, hesitating.

"Are you okay?"

She didn't answer, she just shook her head and looked at the ground, building up the courage to do what she should've done on the first date. She kissed him. It was driven by confusion and simply wanting somewhere safe, where she'd be wanted. He was taken aback by this, but kissed her in return. They moved inside and closed the door, when he noticed tears going down her face.
