They didn't need any more cues to follow Liam into the school.
He might have ran ahead but the crowds of people outside one of the biology labs made it pretty obvious where he'd gone. She heard him shouting to say he had the inhaler, shoving to get through the door.
She and Brett shared a look of concern as they walked quickly down the corridor, Mason following them. The other students were so distracted by the scene inside the lab they didn't even noticed the two Devenford uniforms pushing past them to get inside.
Jem's heart sank when she recognised Scott, sitting on the floor clutching his chest. Liam was crouching next to him, but the inhaler wasn't going to help if Scott couldn't calm down enough to use it. He was too panicked, gasping for air but unable to get it. Jem could appreciate the desperation but she was also completely confused.
Scott hadn't needed to use his inhaler in almost three years, since he'd been bitten. His powers had completely suppressed his asthma, so why was he suddenly relapsing. It didn't make any sense.
Tension hung in the air until Liam eventually managed to get through to him, Jem figured with a little bit of beta-to-alpha persuasion powers. He only needed to take a single puff of the inhaler that didn't even belong to him and he got his breath back, still sitting against the table, panicked.
Jem crouched down next to them, leaving Brett and Mason in the doorway. Liam nodded to acknowledge her presence as she took Scott's hand carefully. He was still staring into space, his chest rising and falling dramatically in the relief of being able to breathe again.
"Scott" she called him, getting him to look her in the eye. "What happened?"
He took a second before responding. The crowd at the door was dissipating now that the excitement was over. "I think-" he hesitated, glancing at the inhaler clasped in his hand. "I think I had my memory"

Jem and Brett walked alongside Liam towards the locker room. Scott was already there, packing up his gear again. They just wanted to touch base one more time before he split again.
"What were you guys even here for?" Liam asked, swinging his bag over his shoulder, and ignoring the looks he was getting for accompanying the two private school imposters.
"Inter-varsities, supernatural edition" Brett joked.
"We were talking to Mason" Jem rolled her eyes. "He just had questions about the Devenford kids"
"Right" Liam responded.
"You know it's pretty cool" Jem went on. "The way he wants to help-" she stopped because it was obvious Liam wasn't listening. He was looking back over his shoulder at Deputy Romero and her sister, Hayden, of course.
Jem noticed the bottle of pills she handed her, wondering needlessly what they were for.
"What?" Hayden snapped, making Liam's cheeks flame up. Jem smirked at his embarrassment.
"Nothing" he shrugged, turning around again and walking faster, but he had a stupid grin on his face.
"What's that about" Jem punched his arm lightly, not caring if she was being nosy.
"Nothing" He repeated, trying to wipe away his cheesy smile.
"Oh I heard her, that wasn't nothing" Brett wiggled his eyebrows making Jem laugh.
"Busted" she joked before Brett mimicked Romero's high pitched voice in a horribly offensive impression.
"Is that Liam Dunbar? He got cute"
