Outside in the backyard, rain was pouring as though someone had left on a tap from the sky.
The moment the three Khans with Aslan stepped out, they were soaked.
Except Zara who had decided to play refree and had carried an umbrella.
Also Aliyah was wearing a yellow windcheater that protected her from getting wet.
Although, they all seemed to enjoy the rain.
Zayd shook his head violently in front of Zara which caused drops of water to fall on her face.
''Ugh..Zayd! stop it.'' she scolded him irritatedly and as a revenge she rolled the umbrella handle in her hand so as to cause a shower of drops to fall on him.
Although,Zayd just smirked evilly at her with a hand in pocket as though he had no care in the world.
''That didn't affect me hon.I'm already soaked wet.''
''Haha.Mr.Already-soaked-wet,I think you should stop kidding and go get the game.''she said with a smug face.
''Hmph.I'll get back to you later.''he said as he rotated the football on his finger and walked reverse towards the centre of the ground.
Meanwhile Aliyah and Aslan were done setting the nets on either sides of the large backyard.
Aliyah was done with her net when Zayd was busy teasing his wife.
So she took the golden chance gifted to her by her sister who had allowed her to tease Zayd, with an unnoticeable wink sent to her.
She snatched the ball from Zayd and placed a leg behind his so he would trip and fall in the mud while walking backwards.
But instead of he falling on the ground,Aliyah tumbled because very sereptitiously Zayd had made a defensive turn of his feet.
As Aliyah continued to fall face first on the ground and Zayd stared at her like an awestruck idiot unable to make a move, Aslan came to the rescue.
He caught her by the waist and within seconds bought her back to her normal standing position.
''Holly molly! Aliyah, see avenging people ain't good if its gonna hurt you.''Zayd said clicking his tongue and shaking his head disappointedly as though concerened.
Although, sarcasm was evident in his tone.
Aliyah gave him a cold hard stare and like a background music for her anger, thunder echoed in the already darkening sky.
As if eyes were enough for speech, looking at both of them Aslan could tell both were on opposing teams.
As if on cue, both walked away in different directions and towards their nets.
While passing by,Zayd's amber eyes had turned a darker shade which ressembled a wolf ready to pounce. A malicious glint in his eye.
Aliyah on the otherhand looked ready to kill.
Her light blue eyes looked purple in the evening storm sky.Aslan could have sworn that he saw something dark and sharp protruding from her fingertips.
Claws?
No wait,I must be imagining things how can somone have claws just because they are extremely angry!?
Stop dreaming Aslan...stop dreaming!
He put a hand on his forhead pushing back the wet hair from his eyes.
Both Zayd and Aliyah were in their ready positions on the opposite sides.
Aslan placed the ball in the centre and looked around bewilderedly,he was deciding which team to join.
''Which team Aslan?'' Khan asked from his left.
''Umm...maybe--''he stoped and stared. He stared at Zayd.
More at his crooked evil smirkDid I just see a white, shiny super sharp FANG!?
No way! What the hell!! I must be out of my mind!
A fang? and that too from Zayd's mouth!
He shook of the weird thoughts and an angry but soft ''Grrr!'' made its way from his mouth.
Wait a minute,did I just growl? I sounded like an animal.How embarrasing!
He looked around at the confused and waiting faces of others,no one had heard him he thought, because of the splattering rain.
Aliyah spoke up.''I can play one against two.Aslan you're free to join Zayd.''she said in a passive tone.
Aslan walked on to his teammate to the left.
Meanwhile, Zara stood near the large oak tree with a whistle in hand.
She had suggested the game in the first place. But now she chose to become the refree.
Aslan wondered why she didn't join, but thought it rude to ask her the reason.
From the expression on her face,it looked as though she was on gaurd.
She knew everything.
The deepest & darkest secret of this house and its people.
Although,her face never showed it.
She mostly carried around a serene expression, calm and saintly, and yet today Aslan could see it.
The twisted expression she wore. Her white skin shined in the rain.
Her gaze snake-like and in thought.
He gazed at her.Her topaz eyes had a creepier yet pretty shine today.
The pupil in them had almost constricted themselves into thin slits.
Again,I must be imagining it all...!
He sighed irritatedly,as an unknown anger boiled up in him.
Imagination it was,and yet it felt so real.
The weird feeling he had from the moment he stepped in the mansion increasing with every second.
Ignoring it all once again,he heard Zara blow the whistle.
And all three set off towards the ball to play the rough game.
