"There you are!"

I turned and found Daphne and Tracey running towards me with smiles on their faces.

"Hey guys! Sorry I didn't have a bloody clue where I was going. I have charms now" I said as they beamed at me.

"Us too! We have our first 2 classes together, charms then potions!" Daphne squealed and I grinned at them.

"Let's go then, you don't wanna be late for your first class do you" Tracey said whilst linking arms with me and Daphne.

"Eh, I don't really care" I said honestly as she rolled her eyes and I giggled.

As we walked into the classroom all eyes turned and were on me, and I turned my head slightly to the girls who were also looking at me with with sorry eyes and I looked at them confused.

Before I realised what was going on, the two sat down near the back next to each other, leaving me to find my own seat. To make matters worse, I realised the only seat left was right next to Draco Malfoy. Great start to my first day.

I huffed and begrudgingly sat down next to him, not even glancing at him. He turned to me with a scowl and was about to speak before I heard a voice clear it's throat. I looked around the room to look for the voice but couldn't see anyone.

"I understand we have a new student!" the voice exclaimed and I nodded, still looking for him and was very confused.

I turned to Draco who was now looking at me smirking and I mouthed 'what' to him before hearing the voice clear it's throat again.

I turned to my side and looked down and there saw a very small man looking at me impatiently.

"Oh shit-sorry I didn't-" I began before realising I swore.

"Shit! Sorry, I-" I was cut off again by students giggling and a smile crept up on my face.

"I'm Amaris Villin, sorry Professor" I said with a sincere smile. I genuinely didn't want to offend him.

"Never mind now, Miss Villin, I am Professor Flitwick. Now would you all turn your attention to the front of the class" he stated whilst walking towards the front and I sighed, turning to a snickering Draco next to me.

I glared at him and said "Why didn't you warn me!".

"Where's the fun in that?" He asked, still snickering and I rolled my eyes.

"Now class" The professor spoke. "Today we will be practicing the fire-making spell. However it is dangerous when performed incorrectly." He began.

I scooted around in my seat a little, becoming increasingly bored before the Professor spoke up again.

"Miss Villin, since you are new and we're clearly listening to every word I just said, would you care to come up here and light this candle with the charm I explained?" He questioned sarcastically, but little did he know I already knew it.

"Yeah sure" I shrugged and other students gasped, including Flitwick.

I rose from my seat and made my way to the front, standing next to the Professor and in front of the little candle, pulling out my wand from my waistband.

"Now, Miss Villin, be careful as-"

"Incendio!" I said clearly, moving my hand in the shape of a little flame and the candle was suddenly lit.

Professor Flitwick stood silently for a moment before speaking "Very well, Miss Villin, very well indeed! You seem to have a talent for charms, as your mother once did" he confessed and I just stared at him blankly, not knowing what to really say.
