Chapter Twenty-Three

Hours had gone by and Blaise and I were sitting in the Slytherin common room in our pyjamas just enjoying each other's company and he was catching me up on all the gossip that had happened over the years here at Hogwarts. I learnt that behind all the flirtatious comments, Blaise is a genuine nice boy. He's kind and caring and a loyal friend, even to Draco. We had brought up some food from the Great Hall and were snacking in front of the fire as none of the others had returned from Hogsmeade yet.

"So, Daphne?" I asked casually.

"I'm Blaise, not Daphne" He joked and I rolled my eyes.

"No you imbecile, what do you think about her?" I asked him and he raised his eyebrows.

"She's alright I guess. Why?" He asked curiously and I raised one eyebrow back at him.

"Oh come on, you really haven't noticed she's into you?" I asked disbelievingly. "I've been here a week and even i've noticed it!" I exclaimed and he chuckled, turning to look at the fire.

"I mean now that you mention it I guess she does get all quiet around me. I thought she just didn't like me though" He said honestly and we both burst into fits of giggles.

"Oh Blaise you are so oblivious! That means she likes you if she's getting shy around you, silly!" I said and he looked deep in thought. He paused for a moment before responding.

"Then how come you aren't shy around Draco?" he asked and it caught me off guard slightly. I shrugged in defeat.

"Okay my logic is flawed, but she's definitely into you" I said with a grin which he returned.

Suddenly the door to the common room swung open and in came the four people we had left behind at Hogsmeade. I have a lot of explaining to do...

"Hey guys" I said with a small wave and I saw Tracey's face light up.

"I missed you!" She yelled and came running up towards me, throwing herself onto me on the couch.

"I missed you too but you're squishing me" I chuckled and struggled to keep us up as she giggled and pushed herself onto the space next to me on the right side of the couch, Blaise to my left.

I looked up and saw Daphne come towards us with a sheepish look on her face.

"Hey.." she began.

"I'm sorry Daphne, I shouldn't have yelled" I said softly, cutting her off and grabbing her hand as she came closer and pulled me in for a hug. No more words were needed as I knew she had forgiven me for my silly outburst.

That's when I saw Draco walk in with Theodore beside him. Oh great. My eyes wandered over to Blaise who mouthed 'be nice' to me and I rolled my eyes playfully before putting a sweet smile on my face.

"Hi Theodore" I said cheerfully and he looked utterly confused at my drastic change in mood before greeting me back just as cheerfully, whilst Draco looked absolutely fuming.

"Hey Draco" I said finally and he instantly calmed down. It's like his whole demeanour just changed from complete rage to... relief?

"Let's talk" He said firmly before holding a hand out for me to take. I looked to Blaise who nodded for me to go and I placed my hand in Draco's and let him lead me up towards the boy's dormitories. This was going to be fun...

Once we reached his room I stepped inside awkwardly to find it was empty of anyone else as he shut the door behind me, locking it with his wand. He turned to face me and our eyes locked. I was at a complete loss for words. All my rage towards him for what he did with Pansy had gotten completely lost in his gorgeous pale blue/grey eyes.

"I-uh" I stuttered but couldn't find anything to say. I studied his face more and noticed how plump his lips were and unbelievably inviting they seemed. His skin was literally flawless, whilst his blonde hair fell just above his eyes, making the blue stand out even more beneath the grey. His pale skin reflected the moonlight that had just begun coming through the windows and I couldn't help but let a small smile creep upon my face. He seemed to notice this and took a step towards me.

"I wanted it to be a date" He began and I stood there in shock, not knowing whether to scream in anger or completely melt at his words. Why couldn't he have just said this this morning? Why was this boy i'd known for a week affecting me this much?

"I wanted to play it cool, but then you invited Blaise and I lost it. I was pissed off" he continued and I let my gaze fall to the floor. I felt guilty for inviting the others now, but if he had just told me it was a date in the first place!

I didn't look up at him after a few moments of silence and he sighed in annoyance before lifting his fingers up to my chin, making me look up into his eyes.

"I'm sorry" he whispered, stepping closer to me and I gasped slightly. Did Draco Malfoy just apologise to me? Surely not.

"What?" I managed to breathe out as his face got closer to mine, mere inches away.

"You heard" He said quickly before grazing his thumb over my bottom lip, his fingers still under my chin holding my face to him. His fingers were soft and it made my skin tremble at the slightest touch.

"Let me take you on a proper date. Just us two" he said in a whisper staring straight into my eyes and I sighed.

"I don't know Draco, look at us alrea-" I began but he cut me off by crashing his lips to mine, his other hand snaking around my waist as he pulled me closer and I couldn't help but completely melt into him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and tangled one of my hands in his hair as he deepened the kiss.

After a few more moments of us kissing still standing in the middle of his room, he pulled away suddenly.

"Let me rephrase that. I'm taking you on a date tomorrow, got it?" he said slightly breathless and I nodded with a smirk.

"What's funny?"

"Who said romance was dead" I giggled and he gave me a small smile before wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me in for another sweet kiss. These kisses weren't aggressive or desperate like the others, they were sweet and full of emotions that were different to days before. This wasn't a kiss off someone who just wanted to use me for sex. Dare I say it, it felt like he cared a little. Just a little.

I pulled away from him after another few seconds and looked up at him. I hadn't realised until now just how much taller than me he actually was. Even with heels he still bloody towers over me.

"Finished admiring me yet?" He questioned cockily looking down on me.

"Not quite" I smirked and he chuckled. "What time tomorrow?" I asked and he looked lost in thought for a second before responding.

"Be in the common room for 12pm. I'll let you have a lie in" he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Thanks Dad" I replied sarcastically and he reached down and squeezed my bum, making me gasp in delight.

"I didn't realise you were into names like that" he teased and I hit him playfully on the chest.

"Perv" I said before reaching up and pecking him once more on the lips.

"You like it" He said with a smirk and I removed myself from his hold before walking towards his dormitory door.

"Yeah, yeah. See you in the morning" I said sweetly over my shoulder as I unlocked the door with my wand and pulled it open before disappearing down the dormitory steps to head for my room.

As much as I hated to admit it, I was really looking forward to my actual date with Draco and I don't think i'll be getting much sleep tonight, I was way too excited.
