Dear diary,I'm having another hard time falling asleep tonight. Except this time, it's not the monsters dancing in my head. No, this time it's an angel. A sweet and beautiful angel. My angel.
She tapped the pen on her lips. Her eyes stay trained on the darkness outside. The grandfather clock chimed two times. With a heavy sigh, she flopped around on her back, staring aimlessly at the ceiling. Her mind was racing, her body was feeling alive for the first time in a long time.
And it was all because of a nobody; a nobody quickly turning into a somebody.
A very special somebody.

"Well it's about damn time," Zane smiled, concentrating on the seven digits so perfectly etched on a small piece of blue paper. "I think I have them memorized already."
"Stop," she blushed, playfully hitting him on the shoulder as they sat side by side underneath the big oak tree.
"I mean it! I've only been trying to score these for the past two months," he winked. "I mean, summer will be here in like a month and I'd be so sad if I couldn't keep in touch with you."
"You're weird," she smiled, "you've been to my house like twice now when you went to visit your 'nan'."
"Hey now, my nan really does live a few houses down!" he fought back. "I'd love to take you to visit sometime, I think she would really like you."
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the newest little couple of lovebirds," Kian grimaced as he walked by, followed by a silent Kenzie.
"Don't start," Zane mumbled, standing up.
"I wouldn't dream of it," he mocked, laughing as he made his way to the parking lot. "Come on Kenz, we have a prom to shop for."
"Asshole," Zane grumbled to himself as he sat down next to Sophia.
"What happened?"
Zane looked at her for a moment. "What do you mean?"
"I just, I thought you two were best friends?"
"Yeah, were."
Sophia continued to look at him, as his gaze never faltered from watching Kenzie hop into Kian's monster of a truck.
"Do you like her?"
It was then Zane looked right at her, "like who?"
"That girl."
He smiled, reaching his hand to smooth away the blonde hair from her face. "No," he simply said, "I don't like her."
Beep beep.
Sophia looked away, spotting her mother waiting in the car. She waved at Zane, motioning him over. "Hi peach! Hi Zane, how are you?"
"I'm good Mrs. Layne. How are you?"
"I'm wonderful dear, you will have to come over for dinner again soon."
"I would love to," be replied, looking at Sophia who sat silently in the seat. "That is if you ever decide to invite me."
She shrugged her shoulder, "would you like to come over for dinner?"
"I would love to Sophia, see you tonight then."
"Wonderful! We'll see you at 6," her mother chirped.
"See you at 6," he smiled, waving as they pulled away.
"He's such a nice boy," her mother hummed, fixing her hair as they drove along.
"Yeah, I guess," Sophia replied, feeling her thigh vibrate. She looked down at the glowing phone.
