Chapter 4

I wake up in Daniel's bed with take out boxes next to the bed and my laptop that had most likely died sometime in the night.

I get out of bed and grab the take out boxes so I can throw them out. I grab my laptop and put it on the charger.

I decide that I want to explore by myself today. I change into a shirt I stole from Daniel and some distressed shorts. I brush through my hair grab my phone and keys then I head out.

I walk to a smoothie shop and see a bunch of people inside. I order a blueberry banana smoothie then I take a seat by the window.

I look at the people in the coffee shop. I like to observe people which is part of the reason I didn't do well in school I payed more attention to the people rather than the school work.

I see a girl who has purple hair and round glasses taking pictures of random people in the coffee shop. She is wearing a black tank top with mom jeans and Air Force ones. She looks fun.

She walks up to me she probably saw me looking at her. "Hey I'm Angel what's your name?" She asks me "I'm Davina" I smile at her.

"I know this is weird but I'm entering a photography contest and we are supposed to take pictures of people who we find interesting. Can I take a picture of you?" She asks nicely "Go for it" I say. She tells me to pose however I'm comfortable.

I cross my legs and take a sip of my smoothie. "That's so pretty thank you I'll see you around Davina" she smiles at me "See you around" I tell her as she exits the smoothie shop.

My eyes follow her as she crosses the street to a coffee shop and enters I can see her doing the same thing through the window.

My phone buzzes a text from Daniel again another text from Daniel. I check my notifications 3 missed calls from Daniel.

I call him back "Davi are you ok where are you?" He asks panic lacing his voice "Daniel chill out I'm just at a smoothie shop down the street chill out" I tell him with a chuckle. "I thought you ran away please don't scare me like that" he says.

I understand why he was worried. I ran away sometime in Junior year for about a week or so I went completely off the grid. I didn't tell anyone where I was going or why I was leaving. I just left. I took the bus to the nearest hotel and I paid for everything in cash so my parents couldn't find me by where my card was charged.

Now Daniel has life 360 on my phone so he can always know where I am and he can keep me safe.

"I'm sorry Daniel I'm fine. You should've just checked life 360 to see where I am I'm not 17 anymore I'm not going to run away" I tell him truthfully. I had no plan to run away anytime soon.

"You should meet me here it's a cute place" I suggest "Ok I'll be there in a little bit" he tells me I hang up the phone.

I wait for Daniel by the window he enter the smoothie shop wearing a white long sleeve Pepsi shirt with black jeans.

He sits in front of me. "Do you want a smoothie?" I ask him he just takes mine and drinks some of it. "I want whatever you have" he says handing me my smoothie back.

I get Daniel a smoothie and hand it to him. "That reminds me we need to go grocery shopping. The fridge is empty and mama is hungry" I tell him he cringes "Ok but as long as you never call yourself mama again" he tells me "Deal" I laugh.

After we finish our smoothies we walk to Daniel's car and drive to the nearest grocery store.

Once we get there Daniel grabs the cart and I stand on the edge of it. "Onward!" I yell getting the attention of everyone at the front of the store.
