Chapter 16

I wake up to hear shuffling coming from the other side of the room. I rub my eyes I look over to see Ryan getting dressed.

He buttons his pants and walks over to me.

"Good morning love. I didn't mean to wake you up I was just getting ready for school" he tells me I nod as I rub my eyes.

I grab my phone from the nightstand and see that I have 20 missed calls from Daniel and 25 texts from him.

"Shit" I say I unlock my phone and I call Daniel.

After the first ring he picks up "Davi where are you are you ok?" He asks panicked "Yes I'm fine. I just slept over at Ryan's house. No big deal" I tell him he exhales.

"Ok I was just worried about you I'm sorry" he tells me "It's ok Dani. I'll talk to you when I get home ok?" I ask "Ok I love you" he tells me "I love you too" I say then I hang up the phone.

"Daniel?" Ryan asks "Yeah" he walks over to me and puts his hands on my waist.

"He's a bit possessive don't you think?" He asks "No not really he's just trying to make sure I don't do anything stupid" I tell him and he just nods.

"Well I'm headed off to school I will see you tonight. You can leave whenever you want"he tells me I nod he gives me a quick kiss goodbye then he walks out of his room.

I walk over to his drawers and look through them to find something to wear.

Eventually I decide to stick with what I have on and Uber home.

I grab my keys and my phone. I put my shoes on.

I walk out into the living room and see who I assume is Ryan's roommate sitting on the couch.

He waves to me and I wave back then I exit the apartment.

I get into my Uber and go back to my apartment.

I unlock the door to my apartment and Daniel is in the kitchen.

"Hi Daniel" I say as I walk in "Good-morning" he says I walk into my room and over to my closet.

I put on one of Ryan's hoodies and blue jeans.

I put my hair up into a messy bun I walk back into the kitchen.

"Shouldn't you be at school?" I ask him as I take a piece of fruit from his plate. "I don't have any classes today" he tells me I nod.

I play with the strings of my hoodie "I'm guessing you had fun last night" he smirks at me "Oh shut up like you haven't done anything before" I push his shoulder.

"Why are you wearing a hoodie and jeans it's hot outside" he asks I shrug my shoulders.

"How was school yesterday?" I ask "It was great all of my professors where amazing. I made a few new friends. There is a cute girl in my English class that I talked to for a bit" he tells me my heart sinks a bit.

Why am I a little jealous I have a boyfriend? I smile at him "That's amazing!" I tell him "If you two work out we can go on double dates" I suggest "That sounds fun" he says.

I stand up and I walk to the fridge it's empty.

"Daniel can we go grocery shopping today?" I ask he nods "Just let me get ready" he says.

He gets ready and walks out to me.

I smell something different "Daniel come here" I says he walks over to me. I grab his shirt and smell it. "Is that a new cologne?" I ask as I let go of his shirt.

"Yeah do you like it?" He asks "Yeah it's just different. You've been wearing the same cologne since middle school" I chuckle "Yeah I just thought it was time for a change" he shrugs.

"Let's go in my car" I tell him we go into the parking garage and we get into my car.

I drive to Publix and we enter the store.

"Ok what do we need or are we just going to grab random things that look like they taste good?" I ask "Get in the cart I'll handle the shopping" he tells me grabbing a cart.

I get in it and I sit down.

We go through the aisles.

Daniel grabs two jugs of apple juice. "Do you really need two jugs of apple juice?" I ask "Yes it's crucial to my health" he says in a duh tone.

We continue shopping Daniel buying a bunch of healthy stuff even through my protest of placing a bunch of little Debbie cakes in the cart.

"Daniel please let me get something that isn't celery" I plead "Wait did I even get celery?" He asks looking around me in the cart "Yes you got two bunches" I remind him.

"Right and sure" he tells me he goes into the snack aisle and I grab a box of donuts then I place them in my lap.

Daniel takes the cart to self checkout and I put the bags in the cart.

I check my phone "Oh shit I have to get to work soon" I tell him he runs to my car with me still in the cart causing me to laugh.

We quickly put the groceries in the trunk and I go a tiny bit over the speed limit so I can get back to the apartment.

We each take as many bags as we can carry which is all of them up to the apartment.

I quickly throw my hoodie onto the couch. I try to walk and take my jeans off at the same time causing me to hop to my room.

I kick my jeans off of my ankles and I walk into my room.

I change into my work uniform.

I walk into my mirror take my hair down and brush through it then put it in a high ponytail.

I quickly throw on some makeup and attempt to cover my hickeys with makeup like I had to do in high-school.

I grab my keys and walk back out into the living room "Bye Daniel love you" I say opening the door "Bye Davi I love you too drive safe have a good day at work" he says as I exit the apartment.

I get in my car and drive to work.

I arrive and clock in just in time.

I do my usual and I take orders and all that Jazz.

It get around 7pm and I notice that Ryan isn't here he usually comes around 5:30 but he probably just got caught up in some school work.

By the time my shift is over Ryan still hadn't come in. I shrug it off and drive back home.

As I open the door Daniel is on his phone smiling.

"Oh is it that girl you told me about?" I ask he quickly looks up from his phone and towards me. "Yeah she found my Snapchat and we've been talking for a couple of hours" he tells me happily.

I give a small smile "That's good but make sure you don't ask her on a date too early" I tell him "Oh well we agreed to meet up for lunch tomorrow at Charlie's" you're fucking kidding me.

"Oh well then I guess I will see you two at Charlie's for lunch tomorrow" I tell him. I walk into my room and take a quick shower.

I throw on and old T-shirt with some athletic shorts.

I get bored so I decide to look through Pinterest for some fashion inspiration and things like that.

Daniel walks into my room as I'm sinking deeper into the hole that is Pinterest fashion.

"I'm going to bed" he tells he "Ok goodnight" I say still looking at my phone "Night" he mumbles walking out of my room.

Before it gets too late I decide to go to sleep.
