Chapter 17

SIMON POV:

If she doesn't leave without talking to me, then I will have to talk to her one last time. Jace didn't want me to go, but it was the only way she could go.

- Jace, she is trapped and she can't do anything else and besides that you will be there with me.

We went to the prison, where Alec's father was there with four other men to take her away.

- Simon, did you come to see me? I knew you felt something for me.

- Can you let me talk to her alone? Thank you!

Roberto and his companions went out for a while, just Jace and I standing in front of the mirror where Heidi was trapped.

- They told me you wanted to see me.

- Of course I wanted to see you, Simon do not let them take me away from you.

- Heidi, you have to go with them, they will know how to take care of you better than me. I don't know how to help you, I was never anyone's sier and I tried to be a good companion and mentor but I failed miserably in the task, but they will help you improve your behavior.

- Simon, I love you and all I did was to stay with you. I just want your well being.

"If you really wanted to, you wouldn't have kidnapped and hurt his best friend," said Jace.

- You shut up that you don't know anything. Why is he here, Sy Sy? I know it is because of him that we are not happy. Do you like this vulgar blondie instead of me, your child? We have a link and no one can come between us.

- Of course I like him, he is my friend .. in fact he is my best friend.

- Sureeeee .... We all know that if the blondie was out of the picture, you and I could be together and happy. But no, I am trapped here and they will take me away from you, my love.

- No one will keep you from your love because there is no love. There is a boy named Simon Lewis and a crazy girl named Heidi who thinks Simon is his property. But it is not!

- I never said he was my property, but he is responsible for what happened to me ... He is my creator and that link no one can break, not even you, a shadowhunter who has the craze that is a God.

Anyone who feeds on you can be your sier, but for some reason you fixed on Simon. Since he knew that you were alive and that you were now a vampire, he did everything to try to help you, but you just want to get away with him ... 

- I'm the only one who really likes him. I know that you don't want to know about him and only keep him around because he gives you a hand for missions. Simon, I showed you the proof you needed to understand the truth.

- The video you showed was not real .... We care about him because we like him. Yes, it is true that he is very important for our missions, but more than that he is our friend.

- Oh please, nobody believes that anymore ... Everyone knows that you just get along because dear Clarissa discovered that she is your sister, if it had never happened, you would still be in a hate relationship ... Is it or is it not true Simon?

The truth is, as much as I didn't want to admit it, maybe she is a little right. The only thing that made us friends was the discovery that he and Clary were brothers. If that never happened, we would still be arguing every time we were in the same physical space. Is our friendship less true because of that?

I know it was a matter of time before we realized that maybe we would be good friends and that we weren't even that different from each other, but when we met, we had Clary in the middle and each of us saw the other as a threat and that it left no room to see if a friendship was worthwhile.

- Can you stop your discussion? Heidi for your sake, you have to go to prison with them, they can do what I couldn't do there ... Help you.

- We're ready to take her, shall we?

"Take good care of her, please," I said and they disappeared with Heidi.

I had finally "gotten rid" of her forever and she was going to have what I was never able to do, which was to help her realize her new life, which is made up of more dangers and desires than the life of a mundane.

- Okay, you were a little quiet ..

- Do you think she's right? If you weren't brothers, wouldn't we have the friendship we have today?

- I cannot lie to you and say that I am absolutely sure that we would be friends if that happened, but the only thing I know would not exchange anything in the world for the friendship that we have at this moment. Simon,  you are one of the most important people in my life and I don't know what I would do without you.

Deep down I knew that our friendship was the most important and it doesn't matter if the circumstances were different, the truth is that now we are best friends and I wouldn't trade for anything in the world ... Nothing!
